    hi, i was wondering what the average weight loss per day would be on a 10 day water fast if your starting bmi was 17. ie if you are not overweight when you start the fast. i was thinking it would be about half a kilogram / 2.2 lbs per day?
    also, would like to hear from anyone who has done this for longer, and if so how long is it safe to continue consuming water only.

    Initially you will lose only water weight first. That may range from 2-4 lbs depending on your body. But then your body will go into a protection mode, thinks it is starving and your metabolism will come to a near standstill. What weight you lose from then on, in a 2 week period may be another 2-4 lbs at best. This is a dangerous "diet" because it cause serious heart arrythmia's and even sudden death. While it is possible to lose great deals of weight with just water, your body will suffer greatly. Muscle mass is lost. Protein is taken from your bones, a serious problem. Look at pictures of the concentration camps, this is not how you want to look.

    do not listen to those people who say fasting is dangerous! As long as you do it properly you are doing your body the world of good. you'll lose about a pound and a half a day, more if you stay active with light exercise. i recommend water fasting for no longer than 10 days unless you have consulted your doctor and they are checking your health throughout your fast. by fasting your flushing all the crap out of your body, all the toxins, and when your body starts eating up all your old or damages cells and body fat, not only will you loose weight but you are actually reversing the ageing process after about 4 or 5 days because your body is creating more cells then there are old ones. look this up in a book called 'skinny b**ch' there is a few pages about it. but if your b.m.i is 17 you are underweight! so be careful, tell your doctor and when your break your fast be sure to ease food back into your lifestyle gently...just steamed fruit and veg...your digestive system will be slack so go easy on it! just be careful and be in tune with your bod and you'll feel bloody amazing by the end of it!!!!

    i think you know the answer to this question if you don't well then that is ashame. if you starve your self for 10 days there is a chance that you can lose up to 10 lbs maybe slightly more maybe slightly less, however the first thing you do eat, u will gain all your wait back, not to mention your body will start to retain water since it is starving. :) my advice is to do things the right way eat healthy and exercise. only way to do it otherwise it won't be effective in the long run. however if your looking to lose weight just for an event for like a day and don't care if you put it right back on then go ahead and give it a try. i doubt you'll make it without food for ten days. that is just silly and nonsense sorry, but starving yourself, your body will take whatever it gets muscle, and apple, even water and turn it into fat cause it thinks thats all it will get
