    NO. The body doesn't begin to burn fat until you've exercised aerobically for 30 minutes or so. YOu should strive toward exercising for a full hour, be it running, walking, or swimming.

    I have actually lost 5 lbs since I started training for cross country. I've been training since the start of summer. The only bad thing is that I didnt want to lose weight.

    It all depends on your physical shape, and how much weight you are looking to lose. Any exercise is going to help. i would recommend going to a local track, and running a mile. time yourself, and see if the next time around, you can set a new, faster time. as long as you push yourself every time you run, you will get faster and lose weight.

    It depends on a few things the shape your in and if you hit your training heart rate while your running. You get maxium effect when you train at your training heart rate.

    You should do both. Switch every time. Running//Walking at differnt speeds use differnt muscles and will help you lost weight all over.
