2007-07-15 23:04:30That is a great start! But in order to loose the weight and look toned you do need to do weight training. That is as important as the cardio on the treadmill. When you do the weight training you are toning the muscles underneath the fat that you are burning off on the treadmill. Don't worry, doing a small amount of weight training won't bulk you up. Try doing, 5 minutes of cardio to start, then a weight training session, then half an hour of cardio - that would be an ideal workout. Make sure you are stretching your muscles as well. If you don't know what to do with the weights..try and hire a personal trainer to develop a program for you, or if you cannot afford that or don't belong to a fitness club, but a set of hand weights and get a book from the library or fitness magazines. Yoga or pilates is also to do even just once a week - it will improve your flexiblity and is even a bit of a cardio workout. Goodluck :)
