I'm doing a research paper on how women use Adderall for weightloss & I'm seeking feedback to help me get a better understanding of the topic. How does Adderall cause weightloss ? How quickly & effectively? Long term side effects of taking the drug? Can you get addicted? & how do these women get on Adderall if they don't have ADD ?

I don't know exactly how it is used in terms of weightloss, but I have met, and have had college roommates that were taking it to stay up all night in order to study for an exam the next day. They were getting it through students who were selling it. Students would have prescriptions for it, and they will sell them to students who wanted to be able to stay up to study an entire night for an exam. I imagine that for weight loss it controls the sympathetic nervous system somehow being that it was able to keep those students up all night. I imagine part of that is causing a rise and maintaining the persons heart rate. It will take energy to do that, so that can cause weight loss, because the sympathetic nervous system controls the "fight or flight" response. In general terms, when you feel scared, energized, or excited...it's all as a result of the fight or flight of the sympathetic nervous system. I could tell that in my roommates when they would take it. They were literally wired, and would sit there studying all night. When the morning came they would go to the exam, take it, and come back to the dorm and crash in bed. I had 3 roommates. One of them sold, and took it, and another just took it. People would come in our room to buy it. That's how I know how they were getting it. Although it may not be the only way.
