I am due to have my first baby girl within the next 2 weeks and started to think about how I'm going to lose the weight before my wedding in June..I've only gained about 28 pounds but before I was pregnant I wanted to lose 20. So, all together Im looking to lose about 50 pounds. Has anyone had any success with weight watchers while breast feeding?

Generally, you should not follow a reducing diet when you are nursing. However, you can watch what you eat and exercise. Your baby should take about 500 calories a day from you. You must make sure you take enough calcium. The baby will get all it needs, but if you're not taking enough for both of you, your body will take what the baby needs out of your bones. I've never tried Weight Watchers myself, but if you eat a lot of fruits and vegetables, salads, skim milk, and lean meat (chicken breast or fish), and stay away from junk, then you should do ok. You will probably lose close to 20 pounds just having the baby, so 30 pounds in 3 months is not unreasonable.
