2008-06-06 16:50:17I've never been really skinny (I am 5Ɗ, 165 pounds) but this summer I want to shed at least 10 pounds (more would be great)
Is that a realistic weight loss number?
and i cant really afford to go to the gym
so i plan to use ten pounds by running perhaps 10 minutes a day
and eating 2 moderate sized meals a day
how often should i run? and how many calories will i burn off with a ten minute run?

Cutting your diet can also help, but don't do it drastically.
You can still have three meals a day, and loose weight. It's all about what you eat.
Try looking for advice on weight loss websites, about meals. The world of food is getting healthier, so you eat a lot, and still not gain weight (so to speak)

2008-06-06 16:54:41eating 2 times a day is not good... u need to try more like 3 meals and 2 snacks... it really boosts ur metabolism eating really sparatic like that... thats how i did it... it worked.. and i wasnt really active because of my knee... i think i walked like 4 days a week... good luck!!!

A 10 minute run will only burn maybe 130 calories.
Or, just try different kinds of exercises.
I would deffinatly not cut down on food though.
Just make better choices.
More vegetables and fruits and fatty fish.
Try swimming at the pool, jump roping, biking, boxing, or buy the videos of workouts.

2008-06-06 17:24:54Well you should eat three meals a day, it will keep your energy up as you exercise. And if you're not fond with running (like I am) you would want to start out by walking short distances then long distances then running. Also 10 pounds is a realistic number.
I say exercise as much as you can and 10 minutes a day seems reasonable. But maintain a balance - don't over work yourself and eat enough not to little!
