2008-02-05 15:00:48I'm 6ft and 256 pounds while a freshman at high school. I'm sick of not being able to run the mile or just being made fun of for being fat.
Whats the best way for me to loose weight?
I'm kinda a person who likes to see results quick but I relize that doesn't happen with weight loss.

2008-02-05 15:12:19dude, if you want to be really dedicated to this, you HAVE to go it alone sometimes. even if your friends say "whatever" you have to say "i want to be happy with my body." when wanting to lose weight, you want to challenge your body every couple of weeks (literally only two weeks) with new exercises. try running, weight-lifting, swimming, crunches/pushups/leg exercises, and other exercises you might find on your own. switch these every 2-3 weeks, and your body won't accustom to the same exercise and not be challenged. it will be if you alternate new exercises every few weeks.
but exercise isn't the only thing. talk to your doctor and find out if this obesity or being overweight runs in your family. he can possibly offer you a prescription to help you in your goal. after considering it with your doctor and family (for support) you HAVE to eat well. a good diet is the key. now that doesn't mean you can never have chocolate or something to "reward" yourself every now and then, but eating fruits and vegetables and drinking at least 8 cups of water a day is something you want to focus on. swap chips for an apple. don't have that old ice cream in the fridge! have a fruit shake.
there are many ways to get skinny.
it just depends on you, now.

2008-02-05 15:19:43if you ride a bike and make sure you drink water while you are riding and after because 1 it will clear your system out and it has no calories and no sugar I'm 17 and my uncle was a body builder and he told me to do this, if you stick with it you can lose a lot I've lost 30 pounds in 3 months.

You need to eat protein with your meals along with fresh fruits and vegetables. Avoid soda and junk food and also processed foods. Start with avoiding soda if that is what you drink alot of. Go online and look for articles on nutrition and losing weight sensibly. With exercise start by walking around the track, ask one of the coaches to help you with weight lifting. So what if your friends don't want to go to the gym. You want to do this for yourself. Doing this little by little will get you results and you will develop good habits that will last a lifetime. 2008-02-05 15:07:27Loosing weight for a guy is easy. I droped 35 lbs in the last 3 months. All I did was only eat 3 meals a day. Only eat fast food 1 time a week at most. Quit drinking soda. And at the end of every meal make sure you leave a little left on your plate, there is no nead to scrape clean your plate every meal. It always healps to do a little exercise. If you dont want to go to the gym try walking home, or if thats to far from your school walk at least a couple blocks every day and when your ready try jogging. Loosing weight is not that hard as long as your mind is set on it, and you quit eating fast food and soda. I did have a problem of ordering enough food so i would eat untill i was stuffed. I had to come to re realize what being full felt like, and how it was different from being stuffed. Just eat enough to get you to the next meal is how i looked at it. Good Luck and stick with it, and youll be skinny in no time.

2008-02-05 15:17:46A lot of people will have my head for saying this. Tell you it's not the way. Have a look round google good for water fasting or fruit fasting.
Water fasting for 10 ten days - (do not eat, just drink water for 10 days)
Fruit fasting for 30 days - (do not eat, just drink fruit juices. Tho this one you would need to fast for about 20-30 days to get the same results as the water fast.
I am on day 5 of water fasting. And feel great. I will admit the food graving on the first and 2nd day was there. But come the 3rd day, never felt better in my life. It's not a feeling that I can put into words. Honestly, day 2 is the worst.
*Important, please do research on the internet before for pros and cons*
It completey detoxifies your body. And as strange as it sounds, you look at everything differently. Your mind is clearer. As said, it's hard to put into words.
(remember to reasearch, when fasting is over, do not eat straight away as the weight will come back... it's recommended to start water fast, finish with juice fast)
Altho weight lose is not the main goal of detoxing, it is achieved.
They eating healthy is key, but that comes after. Lose most of your weight, reset your metabolism, then start to eat healthy. The one thing I like about fasting is... you actually feel like you are doing something. You don't get that why you eat an apple and change your diet.

2008-02-05 15:06:52slow down your diet..... to maintain your weight now you have to eat 2512 calories....so i would go down to about 2000 if you want to see a big difference. If you don't want to go to the gym....you can get a video to work out at home. Cardio work would be the best for you to start....then you can work on muscle.

he was 320 and 5 10... now hez down to 220.. and countin..
get a work out partner some one who is in shape and goes to work out regularly... ***not some one in your situation***
you dont hav to do too much crazy.. start by walkin/runnin and sit ups.. use the bike if u dont like running
go play basket ball and swim when ever u get chance... EAT LESS!!!! i dont beliv in that eat 6 times a day small portion BS.. eat healthier food and drink alottttttt of water...

1. Eat right, many websites you can find.
2. Every morning run.
3. Even though at first you dont want to excercise alone keep reminding yourself that you will be the way you want to be when you do.
4. Swim.
5. Every night before you sleep do some sit ups

2008-02-05 15:06:03Tomorow do 1 lap around a track 3 pushups, and 5 situps. The next day, do 2 laps around the track, 4 pushups, 6 situps. Meanwhile, watch what u eat. Eat when ur hungry, not when ur not hungry. Always stop when ur full. Excercise everyday that way. And once you lose a couple pounds, maybe try out for a team.

2008-02-05 15:11:18We are in the same boat! I'm 6ft 3in 278lb M 15 yo... just stop eating and take vitamins and drink chicken or beef broth instead of eating! I know you think that that's probably stupid because I did not lose my weight... but I have alot of stuff to do around my house and never found time to do them! i lost 10 pounds in the first 4?? days. don't forget you will gain 10 pounds back again when your done so go 10 pounds under what you want to be at! BTW go to the gym first before trying the diet! I learned that just building muscle under your fat works wonders! I've been going for about a year now although not losing a pound I've probably lost 25lbs fat and gained 25lbs muscle! BTW I can't run a mile either... but I can jog a mile easy! lol
