Some of diabetes medications, such as metformin and xanical can cause weight loss. Xanical is indicated for both weight loss and diabetes. However, one major side effect of it is the fact that it causes oily diarrhea and many people stop taking it because of that.
Most other anti-diabetic medications, including insulin, can cause weight gain.
So choosing the right medication for you by your doctor is important.

you need a prescription you need to talk to your doctor about it.
Xenical would be quite acceptable to assist with weight loss as are some of the pre diabetic medications (Glucobay) which are also prescibed on occasion to help with weight loss. Reductil has some nasty side effects therefore you would need to take to your doctor.
Dont waste your money on anything over the counter besides Allie as they jsut dont work

This is a very good question. Only your doctor will be able to determine if you need to take diet pills. Some diet pills on the market can have adverse reaction to insulin injections or insulin pills whatever the patient. If you dont feel comfortable and asking your doctor. You can ask your local pharmacist they should be able to give you an answer to this really good question. They would be the experts in this department in determining if you can take diet pills or not.
