2006-11-27 22:50:34Hi! i have heard that chinese tea helps you lose weight....is that the one that causes you to go to the restroom?? does it actually help you lose weight? i dont want to drink it and be miserable in the restroom all day if it isnt going to help...if anybody knows about it or has tried it please let me know what it does & if it does really work.

2006-11-28 00:20:38Not the normal tea-bag ones. Here, it actually refers to those traditionally brewed tea (from real dried tea leaves). Chinese tea works for your health if only you consume it on a daily basis for long-tem. Same here for Japanese tea. Results won't show up overnight, so don't expect miracle.
For myself, I am drinking this brand of Chinese tea from HongKong - Zhu Zhu Shen Cha (Oolong Tea Flavour), which will helps to increase your body's metabolism and hence, burns up fat faster. Green tea is the best of all kinds of tea..Besides green tea ,lemon tea which is very powerful in losing weight. just boil it, add less sugar and do not put milk in.Serve with a piece of lemon on.
But notice that, tea HELPS you to loose weight... so drinking tea alone won't help.. you must make a fitness plan with proper exercise and balanced diet

I know there is one that helps you go to the restroom, which is what you could be thinking of, but it neither helps you lose weight nor force you to stay in the restroom all day long. It's supposed to help those who don't go regularly since that's unhealthy.

2006-11-27 23:07:14I'm not sure about Chinese tea in general, unless you're referring to Green tea. Green tea drinking has definitely been linked to anti cancer properties and stimulating effects that help aid in the reduction of weight. As long as you do not drink piles of it, you should not have to go to the bathroom all day.

2006-11-27 23:03:22I tried the green tea you are talking about to lose weight. I drink about three hot cups a day when I have it on hand an it never caused me problems. The taste is the only problem I have with it though. Sort of tastes like grass or something. The only thing that really causes me to lose weight however, is not the tea, but small meager portions. I hate drinking water too, but frankly it works better than the tea I think.

2006-11-27 22:58:45Green tea is great as it is an anti-oxidant and natural diuretic, hence run to the bathroom. Losing weight is 90% diet and 10% exercise. If you eat less than 1500 calories(female) per day and do cardio for 30 minutes 5 days per week you will lose weight. The green tea will fill you up with fluids and sometimes we mistake hunger for thirst, but so will water. So drink your water and perhaps 2 cups of green tea for the anti-oxidant properties. PS I drink a lot of green tea but my weight loss was due to low cal/low fat diet 1500 or less per day and weight training and running. It is a fact that if you gain muscle, the muscle will burn fat while you are not exercising.
