2007-01-30 12:06:21diet pills are a joke...they dont work, the greent tea/hoodia give a boost in energy, but nothing more that what a couple of cups of coffee would do...if you want to lose weight you have to put in the effort, there is no magic pill...burn more calories than you eat...exercise..walk on a tread mill for a couple of hours a day.

how about diet and exercise? The is the most reliable way to lose weight. You need to get a regular workout routine, that is, a combination of weight training and aerobic training. This is a killer combo that works well together. it's been proven. Then you need to check what your eating. Fruits, vegetables, maybe some chicken or fish will do the trick. Cut out oily things, starchy things and you'll lose the weight.
Do some research on the web and stop looking for quick fixes like pills, They don't work. And if they DO work without you having to change your eating/exercise habits, then that means they're doing something wrong to your body.

Actually, I'm not entirely joking. Any pill which causes you to lose weight is doing so because it's seriously screwing up your body. Go see a physician. The only real way to lose weight is to change the ratio of calories burned versus calories consumed. You may be able to get a prescription for an appetite surpressent, but you shouldn't buy that over the counter.

There are medications that can help you control your appetite. They should only be used for short periods of time, under careful supervision of a doctor. One such drug is Phentermine. It can be beneficial to get started on a healthier eating plan, your body doesn't take long to get used to eating better, so you shouldn't need it for long. It is only a tool, you still have to make all the necessary changes (healthy eating, exercise), it just helps make that a little easier. It is also not for everyone, some people may not medically be able to take it, or get jittery or agitated by it.
The first step is to see a doctor who specializes in weight loss. I was at my wits end, about to give up, when I finally walked in the door of a weight-loss dr. My insurance doesn't cover it, so I have to cover it myself, and it's not cheap, but 40 lbs. later, I am so thrilled. They were able to examine every possiblilty of why I was having weight problems, whether physiological or psychological. I ended up having a true thyroid disorder, and treatment of that has changed my life. They also referred me to a great therapist who helped me get a handle on the emotional side of eating (and that was covered by insurance).
Don't be ashamed or afraid to get the help you need. I went to soooo many doctors over a course of 12 years who basically patted me on the head and said, "Eat less, exercise more" and offered no real help to a very serious problem. Find a doctor who understands about weight problems and is willing to help you through the process. My dr. also has a nutritionist on staff who counsels me in my eating.

2007-01-30 12:07:25diet pills do not burn fat off your body. i currently use them before my workout but thats it. here is the best way to lose weight from my experience.1. eat a light breakfast(consisting of most of the carbs fro m your daily diet.ex:pb on wheat toast, oatmeal, etc.) 2. workout.3. have a protein shake with milk to act as a meal replacement protein, this works wonders on controlling your appetite!4. limit your carbs before you go to bed cuz you don't need them.i can tell you a lot more just e-mail me.

2007-01-30 12:01:57What you need is a good plan, not a good pill. If you do not address the lifestyle that made you gain the weight in the first place, you will never keep it off long term.
I'm sorry if this sounds blunt, but you need to find a diet and exercise plan that makes sense to you. If it doesn't address your life and your excuses and your schedule, it will probably fail. (Wow, don't I sound optomistic right now!) The GOOD news, is that once you get in place a system where you are eating right and exercising out of habit, the weight will come off, and you can be an entirely different person by this time next year.
Start with small steps... drink water instead of pop and juice - go for a long walk instead of watching the same episode of Seinfeld for the 10th time, then build on these sucesses. Walking is fun, but you miss the TV- put a treadmill in front of it. Add more vegetables to the diet. Switch to Skim milk (or 1%). You don't have to do EVERY healthy thing all at once, but small changes will add up over time.

2007-01-30 12:07:30Modify your diet and do lots of cardio. Worked for me but I haven't been able to lose much more. I have been taking tetrazene ES-50 and since I have dropped an additional 20 lbs. I did not change my eating habits or workout but the stuff worked for me. I wonder what will happen when I stop taking them? Good Luck LOTS OF CARDIO and heart!
