2007-10-10 10:22:44Alright... Well Im going to give you your answer, not going to lecture you about all that bullshit how diet pills don't work yatta yatta etc etc, they do... or why would they still be on the market? but the kind you get is what matters, I currently take Phentermine, go to a diet doctor and ask for those, trust me they work the best, I have took them for sometime now, when I was over weight (380lbs) I lost on average 18 1/2 - 20lbs a month, I was down 180lbs in about 10months, ( Im a 6ƈ 17yr Old Male by the way) my trick to this was take those once daily, and drink Lipton Diet Green Tea w/ Citrus, 0 cals and trust me it taste good, the tea helps speeds the " slowing metabluism " that you get from the low calorie intake along with the diet pills, drink it instead of water, eat about 500 - 800 cals, you don't even half to exercise that much to be honest, I didn't at all, and lost 20lbs a month and as along as you just exercise a little by little when you reach your goal, you will keep it off, I just laugh at the fact these people go around on here saying things don't work "eat 1200 cals!" reality is people want fast results, all because one lab rat said it don't work don't mean it don't work for everyone, they didn't try it, there going by what another lecturer told another and blah blah, I did it, trust me on this... try Phentermine, anyways take care and good luck with your weight lost!

2007-10-10 10:17:07i'd tried xenadrine about 5 yrs ago it worked. I would eat healthy & excersice like doing cardio for 1hr and another hour, walking/jogging. but now i'd gained it all back. I had changed what I eat, not carefully eating right. But now I just drink a replacement meal shake from gnc. I have lost a few lbs but I wouldn't want to risk gaining more if I start taking diet pills and then stop. It's a risk your taking. Also, depends in your body how it reacts.

2007-10-10 10:28:21it's obvious that a pill doesn't work alone. You can't think that you're going to loss weight only with a pill. If you don't regulate your diet and you don't do exercise, you are losing the time...
There are many pills to loss weight in the market, but I recommend you Hoodia or Xenical. Their results are excellent if you use one of them in a correct way.

Answer:do weight loss pills really work which ones have you tried
2007-10-10 11:41:31Hello -
Yes, some weight loss pills do work BUT I've yet to see one that produces significant results without diet, exercise, or both.
This observation comes from personal experience, lots of research (including reviews of countless published studies) and feedback from literally tens of thousands of my customers over many years - I own a large supplement business.
So here???s the short answer on specific products - I have personally used Venom diet pills, Thermolean and Stimulant X ??“ (separately, of course) and all worked well for me and get consistently positive reviews from our customers. While each product I mentioned is made by a different manufacturer, they all help with boosting metabolic rate, appetite control and (to a degree) blood sugar stabilization. You can do a search on yahoo to get more info on any these. Realistically, with the pills, following a diet plan and exercising about 2-3 times per week I would expect 1-2lbs of weight loss/week.
The first week may be more but that???s likely just due to dropping water ??“ most diet pills have caffeine in them which causes mild dehydration, also a drop in calories from dieting (especially when it???s from cutting out carbs) will cause water weight loss as well ??“ 1 gram of carbohydrate will carry 4 grams of water in the body.
Alright ??“ the long answer about diet pills and why you need diet and exercise as well to get results???.the reason a diet pill alone will not work is that in order to lose fat two things have to happen - 1) you need stable blood sugar levels (your body will not metabolize stored fat in the presence of insulin) and 2) you need to be in a caloric deficit to create the need for stored fat to be used as fuel.
To start with the latter point???.most diet pills can be classified as ???thermogenics??? ??“ the key point is that they help increase caloric expenditure to a certain degree ??“ this depends of course on the ingredients ??“ both composition and quantity. But, regardless of the formulation, the increase in caloric expenditure a typical individual would realize is maybe 5-8%.
This is a VERY small increase and assuming an average individual who has a base caloric expenditure of say 2,200 kcal/day and using the generous 8% figure, that???s about 175 kcal/day???or about 1,225kcal/week???not too much considering 1 pound of fat contains about 3,500 kcal.
And now the former point???..even with that increase in caloric expenditure if your diet is too high in refined carbs (namely sugars or even high quantities of ??“ for instance ??“ white bread) the calorie deficit created is totally meaningless. Why?
Well, several studies have shown that individuals who should be in a caloric deficit (resting metabolic rate tests, etc. to verify caloric needs) BUT whose diets are very high in refined carbs ??“ the bulk of the calories they consume are from these sources ??“ do not lose weight! Your body will not metabolize stored body fat in the presence of insulin ??“ which when you consume enough carbs, your pancreas will secrete insulin. The only exception would be extreme athletes ??“ like triathlon types.
Why the exception? Well, there are several reasons, but the top two are because the carbs these folks consume are replenishing muscle glycogen stores and thus clear the blood stream more quickly and due to complex insulin sensitivity differences in athletes ??“ hardly the case for the average person.
Now, there are certain supplements that can contribute to blood sugar stabilization but experience tells me this is best achieved with diet ??“ unless you???re going to take a pill with every single meal ??“ and who wants to do that?
Importantly, as well, there are certain supplements that can help with appetite suppression and thus make restricting food intake (dieting) less of a struggle. No question here ??“ this is an important benefit some diet pills offer since about 70% of dieters cite appetite control as the #1 reason they failed in their dieting efforts.
So, use the diet pills to help keep your energy up and help with appetite control. This will enable you to exercise and stick with your diet.
Hope that helps you and be sure to very carefully review the supplement facts/ingredients in any product before you try it ??“ almost without exception all thermogenic diet products will contain caffeine - a substance some folks need to avoid.

2007-10-10 10:23:14The pills are not really going to help. If you read the label you'll see it says.."when combined with proper diet and exercise.." So any possible weight loss you might experience would be from the diet and exercise part not from some pill made of ground up leaves and caffeine. In the end you'll end up heavier and even more frustrated...Good luck
