Does anyone know of a medicine to treat endometriosis, and one of the side effects are loss of weight? Cause i have been on one that made me gain weight so now i want one that has the side effect of losing weight.

Endometriosis is not caused by a back flow of menstrual blood. Every woman has that to some degree. It is believed to be an autoimmune disease, which a strong genetic component. Any kind of hormonal medication will have the potential for weight gain. I have endometriosis too, and for me the best thing is to get ALL the endo excised laparoscopically and to take birth control pills continuously so I rarely get a period. I have never had an issue with BCP's and weight gain, and have taken many in the search to find the right one. Yasmin is pretty good, and the progestin in it helps reduce fluid retention and bloating. Talk to your doctor about the weight concerns, and I'm sure she can modify your treatment plan to better fit you needs.

Your best advice would come from a GYN doctor. Endometriosis comes from menstrual blood backing up thru the fallopian tubes and pieces of endometrium implanting on the abdominal wall. Every time you have a rise and fall in hormones all of your endometrial tissue responds, thus causing abdominal discomfort. Seems to me that constant birth control pills would maintain the hormone levels, not allowing you to have a period and alleviating the monthly discomfort. But, hormones usually induse us women to eat too, so not providing any weight loss properties.

If you hear of such a miracle drug I will be very happy. I don't know of one. What were you on before that mae you gain?
