Answer:does medicaid assist in weight loss procedures
2007-01-10 20:32:18It truly depends on the state you live in and the program guidelines for that state. In MN weight loss programs are covered on medicade if you have a health condition that can worsen because of excess weight. Rheumatoid Arthritis can be considered as a risk for someone with weight issues. My advice to you is to call the program agency or the state you are questioning and ask them if they will cover weight loss procedures. It is hard to answer your question without more specific details about what you are looking for. Or, if you or who you are looking to help have a social worker they would also be able to answer your questions. Or, if you have an insurance card check the back of it to see if there is a consumer or customer information number you can call for more information. Another option may be to ask the primary care doctor you deal with...they are usually familiar with what insurance programs cover what and what the limits and or exclusions might be. Hope this helps and is useful to you! Good luck!
Answer:does medicaid assist in weight loss procedures
2007-01-10 20:29:45I know someone who was on a medicaid and got a breast reduction surgery paid for. Seems pretty unfair. If youre on medicaid, you should probably try and lose weight the old fashioned way, eating less and exercising more. You could probably save a lot of money this way, too.
