Ask:Does this weight loss pill actually work
2008-04-12 03:33:02I'm really sceptical when it comes to wonder drugs that you cannot buy in shops. Surely if it was that good it would be on the shelves of every shop!

Answer:Does this weight loss pill actually work
2008-04-12 04:26:36Hi there!
As a principle skater, i've tried almost every diet under the sun to try and keep my weight down and I'm afraid to say that the chances are - your wonder drugs won't work. There is only one definate way to shed the excess pounds, and it's from a healthy diet (fresh fruit and veggies, lean meat, brown rice & pasta etc) and some exercise to help raise your metabolic rate.
As for your question on what is c9,t11,CLA... here goes :
Ok, firstly (to get this bit out of the way - cause it's not really too relevant for your question..."conjugated" just refers to the bonding structure, meaning that one pair of double bonds is seperated by only one single bond (basically it's a polyunsaturated fatty acid. aka trans fat - these can increase your risk of coronary heart disease).
CLA (conjugated linoleic acid) is a large group of isomers of lineolic acid (which is an omega- 6 fatty acid) , hence they are usually found in dairy products and meat (also found in oils such as sunflower oil, poppyseed oil etc...)
There have been studies on CLA in humans which have shown a tendency for reduced body fat (particularly abdominal fat) but has shown an increase in the formulation of C-reactive protien (which without going into detail, in worst cases can cause liver failure) this happens to induce oxidative stress (which is caused by an imbalance between your bodies system being able to detoxify and repair - this can go on to damage componants of your bodies cell, for example, cell protiens and even DNA)...
here is the interesting part - CLA can also cause you to become desensitised to insulin (which if you're a female can be pretty bad) females who are desensitised to insulin are more likely to develop PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) and it's symptoms, which can include irregular or non existant menses (menstruation) hirstutism (excessive and increased body hair, typically in a male pattern affecting face, chest and legs), Acne, Infertillity.... and wait for it... People who are desensitised to insulin are very often obese (insulin is created to deal with fat - when your body isn't sensitive to this insulin, it doesn't do that and more insulin is needed to try and do the job) - this again increasing chances of heart disease, diabetes and many other obesity related problems.
Also, the studies that showed a reduction in abdominal fat was based on a daily dosage of 3.4 g... the chances are your wonder pills will not have this amount in them anyway and will therefore be even less effective.
I've not put all this down to scare you - it's only here to make you aware - it's important to remember that if something sounds too good to be true - it probably is.... If this wonder drug really worked as well as it claims to - then there would be no overweight people in the world! =)
Rather than take these pills, why not try and get CLA into your diet by natural means...you'll find high levels of CLA in eggs. CLA can also be found in grazing animals such as cows, sheep etc... (though do remember your cholesterol!) by eating a high protien diet, you'll also cut out the sugars (created by the carbs you're eating)
I hope this helped you some!
best of luck, feel free to mail me if you have any other questions

2008-04-12 03:36:52If you doctor has not prescribed it then I would advise that you do not take it. If these wonder drugs actually did what they claimed we would all be taking them & we would all have perfect figures.

2008-04-12 03:41:30The term 'weight loss' is very misleading. So called 'weight loss' pills actually aim to lower a persons appetite, but the same thing can be achieved with basic, natural will power. The main chemical in a weight loss pill is also found in methamphetamine, also known as 'ice', wich is a narcotic and can make your teeth fall out. Diet, exercise and will power are all a person needs.
Edit: Any weight loss pill that requires you to drink water to make it work really is a load of rubbish, drinking water can make a person feel full so they are bound to eat less.

2008-04-12 04:25:58The only weight loss pill that I have found effective is Hoodia. Plus it is 100% natural so it contains no chemicals and is 100% safe to use. It works really well too.

2008-04-12 03:43:49ummmm, what weight loss pill is it exactly??? there are some the dr an perscribe that work but you should stay away from most others as they are a complete rip off and you'll probably end up with a tape worm or worse!
Answer:Does this weight loss pill actually work
2008-04-12 03:38:19Likelihood is that if you take it you may lose some weight, but as soon as you STOP it will allll go straight back on, and more - and some pills can have really bad effects such as blindness! They can also be addictive - psychologically and physically.
I know its clich??d but the only way to lose weight healthily is exercise and cutting down on certain foods, and eating lots of fruit and veg!
