2006-11-02 09:02:47Cut down on your portions and eat more small meals throughout the day. Exercise at least 20 minutes a day 3 times a week. Other than that you just need to give it time. It can take a couple of weeks before you start to notice a weight loss. Keep in mind - that from the exercise you're toning up and developing muscle. Muscle weighs more than fat but is compact. So you may actually gain weight but trim down if that makes any sense. Don't give up - lots of luck!!!

2006-11-01 10:54:02I'm on the weight loss journey with some friends and am nowhere near 10 lbs to go, but I've wondered why the last so many pounds are the toughest to lose. It seems to happen to everyone.
I was thinking of psyching myself into wanting to lose 10 pounds more than I really did. I haven't figured out how to do that though.
Otherwise to get those last few pounds, I think you need to modify some of the exercises you're doing. Change the intervals or repetitions or even the exercise itself. Try something new or work a different muscle group.

2006-11-01 10:43:39Kerri...I was in the same spot you were 3 mos ago. It is harder to lose weight when you are closer to your goal than when you began. By trial and error, I discovered that the more you exercise, the more oxygen to the body cells, and this is what it takes to break down fat. Just don't forget to drink water and keep the cells clean of fat. It has taken me 3 mos to lose 9 lbs. I think if I had been devoted to the water routine when I began my diet, it would not have taken so long. Good luck, S
