    I had two children and had no problem going back to my original size, well 6 years later and 3 miscarriges I finally carried full term but during the period of failed pregnancies and finally the full term I had gained alot of weight..a c-section with the last also makes things worse....I seriously have no extra time to myself to work out right now with 3 kids and work..I dont want to lose to fast but Im starting to get really depressed to the point I stay home instead of going out and when we do go out I know I have a really bad attitude about it because I am so self conscious....I have about 50 lbs to lose and want something safe that wont give me a heart attack!

    You have to exercise. Its a must! make it fun and beneficial. Get yourself 2 10 lb dumbbells and work every single part of your body while you watch the kids. Heck, have the kids mimic you without the DBs so they can benefit too. As you get more and more involved with the workout you will be burning calories, even while you sleep. Muscle burns calories 24hrs a day. Of course you have to eat in moderation.
    The best place toi start is with your legs. Biggest muscles are there, therefore bigger calorie burn. Simple squats, romanian deadlifts, lunges and calf raises will do more than just burn calories. It will do it, like i said, 24-7 and start giving you great body tone and a killer @ss.
    Start off slowly, without the weights at first, then build into an anearobic phase which will melt the fat like butter in heat. Like I said, have the kids participate. It will be good for them too and you will be doing it with them.

    You have to exercise or you won't lose weight, you spent time coming on the internet so you must have some free time. Get an exercise bike because you can do that and watch the kids at the same time. Take the kids out to the park and go for walks with them, I know you feel self concious but you have to do it or it will never come off. I know kids love dancing so maybe you could dance to an exercise dvd to burn off some weight! I hope you succeed! x

    You have to make time. Get a trusted neighbour to babysit while you go for a 45 minute power walk, and return the favour by looking after her kids (and yours) the next day. Better still, join a mother's group who swap baby sitting duties and get together specifically to do exercise. Three ladies exercise, while 2 ladies baby sit for all 5 mum's children. Get in touch with your mother's groups. Do NOT stay at home. You tend to do this when you are starting to fall into chemical depression. The best thing you can do to stop yourself from spiralling into severe depression is to get together with other people NO MATTER HOW HARD IT SEEMS.

    Some food supplements can help. Phase 2 is a carb blocker which limits the amount of carbs absorbed by your body by preventing the enzyme action during digestion. It is a natural product - white kidney bean extract and has had positive results in clinical trials - it thus encourages the body to use stored fat as energy and has also been shown to increase fat burning during any exercise you do. Do a yahoo search for more info.
    You can also try other natural supplements associated with increasing your metabolism (they also have other benefits - do some research) Chromium, CLA. Simple diet changes can also be effective - always eat breakfast to start your metabolism - try adding cinnamon to some meals - eg with porridge for breaky. Eat grapefruit (esp red/pink), cut back on sugars, eat an apple 1/2 hr after main meal. Dont eat fried foods - oven/steam/grill/poach - chose white meat (skinless) over red. Hope this helps!     exercise and thats it, stop making excuses. You can enroll in an aerobics class a couple of times a week, check for one ethat has child care or trade off with a freind or have ur hubby wwatch the kids while u go. If nothing else walk on yur lunch hour. If it is too cold, do 10 flights of steps up and down daily at work, it will really jumpstart eeh metabolism. Cutting back on food alone is not enough to help permanent weight loss.You could do videos at home if there is absolutely nothing to do with the kids. Get up earlier and do an exercise video before u go to work. Exercise will give you more energy and you won't feel so tired.

    i too have the same problem with weight. there are a couple of things to consider, first of all you may need to change your eating habits. when you get breakfast for your kids, sit down with them and have a bowl of cereal and juice, and have a light snack at lunch. be sure you take in your share of liquids during the day. it could be juice or water, i drink alot of that iced tea. and snacks can be as simple as a protein bar for energy, or a shake.
    I'm asthmatic so alot of the diet supplements that speed up your heart rate are ones that i have to avoid. i talked to my pharmacist. and they told me to try, just plain dietary fiber capsules. and as long as your active with your kids, and cleaning house, that's just as good as any aerobic workout.
    alot of it is in the mind as well, if you are depressed, or in a slump all the time, it is harder to loose weight. find something to keep your spirit up, and to keep you in a better feeling mood. it will help. do what i do, put the music on, to heck with the neighbors, if its during the day, and tidy the house.
    your weight loss will be gradual so don't jump on a scale every day. it would just make you feel worse.
