2007-10-08 15:20:47I joined weight watchers last march and lost 42 pounds by August. Also, it certainly wouldn't hurt for me to tell you that portion is everything. Instead of eating a whole candy bar, eat half of one, hell, eat HALF of everything you eat and you will never have a weight problem.Drink 8 - 10 glasses of water a day, green tea is very good for your body as an antioxidant and help subtly speed up the metabolism. Salads (without fatty dressings and cheese) are very good for you, chicken is the king of meat in my opinion, as long as you don't fry it. Avoid fast food entirely, and walk anywhere you can as often as possible and get ahold of the 8-10 minute tae bo if you can. Drink diet sodas and juices (aka - cherry coke zero, sobe lean, crystal light, etc.) avoid sugar, switch to the 100 calorie snack packs, including popcorn. Eat apples, they are very filling! Cheese is an unecessary evil as well, so is milk, if you have to have it, drink the fat free kind. 100 calorie popcorn is a great snack. Eat turkey lunchmeat instead of a whole sandwich, etc. Eating is necessary, over eating is not. I also have a meal shake in place of a meal, I find it incredibly helpful at 3:00 in the afternoon.

2007-10-04 16:27:01Probably not. Any weight loss that is fast, is only temporary. When you lose weight quickly, it is because you lose water weight. What you should be trying to lose is fat, not water.
I recommend the following:
Make sure you eat breakfast. Skipping it only slows down your metabolism and can actually make you gain weight. You should have something good for you, like special K cereal with lowfat milk, or a banana.
Eat a fat free yogurt 15 minutes before dinner. The yogurt helps your digestive system, is good for you and helps fill you up, so you won't eat too much at dinner.
Salads are good, but don't load them up with junk. Stick to lettuce and tomatoes. Cheese is too fattening. If you want to have meat on the salad, make sure it is something like lean chicken (not crispy fried!). Also, use a fat free dressing. A lot of people think that just because they are eating a salad, it is good for them, but regular dressings can have as many calories as a cheeseburger!
Also, if you want a late night snack, choose something healthy, like salsa and low-fat tortilla chips. But only eat a serving.
The most important thing is to eat slowly. If you eat fast, you can eat too much. It takes 15 minutes for you to feel full. You could gorge yourself until you feel full, and 15 minutes later, you'll feel even worse.

2007-10-04 16:32:42the only way to see fast and dramatic weight loss is through diet and (very important) exercise. You have to create a calorie deficit by eating less calories than you burn. I recommend 20 to 30 minutes doing cardio - I like eliptical training, eating lots of leafy green vegetables with very few calories and consuming a lot of protein. eat tuna, drink fat free milk and eat low fat or fat free yogurt , eat vegetables like broccoli (and the tip here is to eat small portions 5 to 7 times a day to constantly feel full) do all this for a full week or two while you are also doing some serious cardio training ... you'll be amazed...
btw there is no easy way to lose weight fast and still look good - you lose too much weight to fast and you'll get pale and wasted looking ... not attractive and toned
