2007-09-06 00:45:51Dr Fank you need to get some life experience outside your text books.... BMI ratings are a joke. My BMI is 30..Near obese. I am 6ƈ and my body fat percentage is 15%.. BMI takes nothing in consideration as it is a very old and poor numerical system based on generalisations and totally ignores muscle mass and body type. I am near obese on the BMI scale yet I have a 6 pack and bench 120kg..
To answer this girls question... Water loss. the only way top drop size in a few days is water loss. So you realise you need to be smart about this as you need water to survive. Basically cut all salt from your diet asap. Salt makes you retain water. Rinse foods high in salt with water beore eating them (tuna etc). Add no sauces or spreads to any of your foods prior to this weekend. and drastically cut your water intake (any fluids at all) down. Drinking coffee will help as it is a diuretic. This is obviosly not healty but you are aware of this already I am sure. Exercise. Fast, slow whatever, just exercise so you are sweating. If your night out is Saturday you will not drink anything Friday or Saturday up until. Suck on ice chips if you need to. Stick to protien type foods or complex carbs for these days until the weekend but remeber no sauces on tem or in them... just plain dry food. Until two days before cut your water intake down but do not stop totally until 2 days before you go out.... This is your only chance to drop some size quickly.... This is not healthy but hey you know that.

Dont eat until you're full
Eat fruits at night if your hungry.
Drinks lots of water and stop all the fast food and chocolate.

2007-09-05 23:55:44No chance of going anywhere useful with your attitude to weight I am afraid. In fact 2 in 3 so called dieters of your type end up heavier in the long term. losing weight is a long term strategy, never a quick fix.
Only a 4 word instruction is needed :- EAT LESS DO MORE.
A modest reduction in calories, accompanied by a significant increase in exercise has been shown to be the only way of sustaining weight loss.
You need 30-40 minutes of vigorous exercise 5 days a week, indefinitely. The fact that hardly anybody does this explains the West's inexorable increase in average weight.
In UK we are now on average 2 stone heavier than in 1960 and have an average BMI 0f 26, over 27 in Scotland. ( Normal is under 25!)
