My little sister, who will be ten in April, is significantly overweight. She refuses to exercise and eats way too much. The other kids are really starting to tease her. I think a weight loss camp would be excellent for her. I don't want to send her to somewhere like a boot-camp, though! I want her to have fun and make friends and just learn to eat healthier and find ways to exercise and have fun at the same time! How do I suggest it without saying "You should go to Fat Camp"? I mean, I think she'll be offended any way I put it. Or should we just send her to a regular camp? Also, we don't have a lot of money, how expensive are these places?

Dont tell her. even at such a young age you get so hurt.
when i was about 10 dad said that " i was getting a bit chubby" and it hurt me for years and i have suffered yo yo dieting the rest of my life i lose weight excessively by not eating, then once i reach my goal i binge and gorge on food , then repeat cycle, its horrible you dont wnt to put your daughter through that sort of pain and upset.
id suggest getting rid of all junkfood in the house so she cannot eat fatty foods, go out on family outings as much as possible and she wont realise she is excersizing, go swimming, get a dog and take it for a walk with her each day, go to the beach and run around with the frisbee, she must have at least one sport she likes, i used to hate all sports except netball and basketball..
get her into some sports club..
dont give her money so she cannot buy food at the canteen, give her treats every now and then but hide them somewhere so she wont find them, and make sure its low fat , but dont tell her that it is low fat, because then she wont like it, if u pretend its just normal she will love it.

It shouldn't be you who has to be the one to send her. It should be your parents.
