Ask:I have always had issues with weight loss does anyone know any good diet solutions that would work
2007-07-10 11:51:11I am a 16 year old that has been overweight ever since I can remember. I really hate it. Does anyone have any ideas that would help me out? Like, diets that work well, and quick, or even simple excercise routines that are highly effective? I really need to drop about 45-50 pounds before the holiday season. Please let me know of anything i could try that would solve my problem. Thank you.

2007-07-10 11:59:01There is no "easy" way to lose weight. There is ONE proven method.
Eat Less + Move More
One simple way to start "changing your eating habits" (not dieting, because this a lifetime change) is to just eat the same things, but eat less. At restaurants leave 1/3 of your food on your plate (or take it home for later. At home put 1/3 less on your plate and don't take more.
Drink lots of water.
Add simple excersize, like parking a little farther away, or making an extra trip up and down the steps for no reason.
Start making better choices in what you eat. You don't have to go from four course meals to salad only. Choose grilled over fried, and vegetables over potatoes.
Take baby steps and as you see the results it will motivate you to do more.

2007-07-10 12:18:28Hey I've had the same problem my whole life lol.....
This is what I've been doing since May and its been working...
Low calorie Diet just not too low... Try to maintain yourself between 1000 to 1400 a day and just drink water and get rid of bread and all really fatty sweets and junk food. Trust me you will lose at least 1 to 4 lbs. a week and maybe even more if you exercise. The less calories you intake the less energy you will have and the more cravings you will have.
ex of a day
breakfast : special k with red barries about a cup with milk.
snack: nabisco 100 cal. pack
lunch: healthy choice or a salad with a meat or sometimes you can at soda crackers with ham and cheese or and egg omlet ....that type of stuff or a soup
snack: 50 calorie popsicle or a low fat yogurt 100 calorie pack,,,etc.
dinner: steak or fish or chicken, 3 soda crackers, and a side salad.
try to eat every 2 to 3 hrs to speed up your metabolisim.
I've lost 20lbs in two months and I eat at restauraunts once a week and don't kill myself if I go over a little of the cal.
If you can drink alot of water and you know whats really good too the fatfree publix brand activia yogurt its 60 cal and it helps you with your digestive track....also if you have a chance park far away from places so you can walk take the stairs walk the dog....little things like that make a difference
GOOD LUCK

2007-07-10 12:04:06The easiest way to lose weight is to clean up your diet. Stop eating foods that have added sugar and foods that are fried. Eat fresh foods, fruits and veggies, lean meats and low fat dairy. Give up carbonated beverages and drink lots of water.
Read labels, if a food has any form of sugar added in the first five ingredients(including corn syrup) then you probably shouldn't eat it. Reading labels makes you aware of what you are putting into your body. Don't substitute artificial sweeteners either, even those can cause your body to crave more sweet foods. Eating sweet foods make you crave foods and in return you eat more. Food manufacturers know that so they are adding sugar to foods that wouldn't normally have sugar in them.
Once you get used to eating healthy you wont want to eat foods that aren't good for you. But you really shouldn't rely on diet alone. That's not a common sense way to keep your weight under control. Get active !

2007-07-10 12:06:56At your age you shouldnt worry too much about dieting just don't go over board on the fatty foods like burgers and frys eat more home cooked foods but mainly stick with chicken breasts and fish and do a nice salad and eat a lot of fruits and veggies. You also need to get more active. Join sports in school. If you don't like sports go out and run, bike, swim and do that type of cardio excercises daily. Look at the link below it has a simple routine to help you get on your way after these excercises get easier find more advanced excercises or add in weights to give more resistance. http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m1...
