....I walked 4 times a week 2 of those days I got up to four miles.
....skipped lunch or dinner 4 times a week.
....I fast once a week, only water or sweet drink.
....vegetarian only one time a week fruits and veges only.
...weigh self daily.
....8 hours of sleep
....keep a journal on what I eat every day.
...keep a scrap book on articles for weight loss I have read in magazines or internet example eating fiber, drinking water, cutting way back on soda, drinking green tea etc.
like I said I went off my diet somewhat from thanksgiving to new years..finding it hard to get back on pace..just need to regain my focus. But I can do it and you can do it.
Pick a good weight for yourself to attain, talk with parents and good friends..dont use the tabliods and those freakishly thin models as your goal weight/looks.

2008-01-15 20:25:48I am a 5Ə female. When I was 18 I got up to about 230lbs. I got down to 180 in 3-4 months just by eating a lot less junk. I held a weight of 190 after that.
I'm 23 now, in August my weight got to 205lbs. I started exercising and counting calories. I'm now at 165lbs. I do aerobic videos 3-6 days a week. Right now I know I eat too many calories most days to have a significant loss, but I hope to get to 150.

2008-01-15 20:32:07I lost 125 lbs in 18 months by eating a VERY High Fiber diet. I'm talking like 40 grams a day! This is hard to do, but my Dr. oversaw the diet and I used fiber supplements. The trick to this is to increase your daily fiber gradually. I made the mistake in the beginning of jumping from about 20 to 40 grams a day and it made me really sick. But then I gradually added about 5 extra grams a week and it worked great. Fiber is very filling and also helps lower cholesterol and clean the arteries. I find that a glass of Metamucil while I'm cooking helps to fill me up and I eat less during mealtimes.
Exercise is also essential. At least 30 minutes a day is a MUST!

Is everyone aware of the really bad ingredient in food?
Well the bad ingredient is called: High Fructose Corn Syrup HFCS
Some of you may know fructose is the good sugar in fruit, well High Fructose Corn Syrup is not a good sugar and has no amount of fructose. Corn syrup is okay, but not High Fructose Corn Syrup from corn. HFCS is a man made ingredient and is not from corn at all.
Why this ingredient is bad:
Blocks your arteries
Raises Blood Sugar / Pressure thats' not good, unless instructed by a doctor
Stays in your body for a long time
Creates sugar blood slash blood fat
There is no good / positive side to this ingredient
You might get Diabities type 2
Makes your body have to work harder to lose wieght / you lose wieght slowerer
Why ppl put this in food:
To make money
They really do not care about your health, face the facts
They cannot be unaware because if they did not know what the indgredient was, why would they put
that in thier food they made in the first place?

Go check your bread in your pantry betcha you guys have that in your pantry. HFCS will usually be in all upper case letters and under the ingredients column and say : "HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP"

2008-01-15 20:23:01the ONLY diet that has ever "really" worked for me is the good ol' fashioned counting calories. I aim for 1200 calories per day and if you watch the calories you dont need to worry about carbs or fat because carbs & fat are too high in calories and you wont be eating them...
You need to pay attention to what you eat and make wise choices so that you stay within the count and dont starve...For instance you can eat 1 candy bar or you could eat a whole chicken breast and a side of veggies....Or you can eat 1 bag of chips or you could eat a turkey sandwhich....
I like counting calories better then any fad diets too becasue you can still live a normal life...If you eat something high in calorie for lunch then just cut back at dinner...
If you stick to it you'll learn really quick how to eat and you will lose weight -- And your Doctor would approve too!

TWO YEARS LATER I WEIGHED AROUND 140. I NOW WEIGH 152 AND HAVE MAINTAINED THIS WEIGHT FOR 5 YEARS. I ACHIEVED THIS THROUGH HARD WORK EXERCISE, HEALTHY EATING AND JUST LIVING A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE.
