Okay, so I'm pretty hefty. 5Ƈ" (short I know) 15 year old and I weigh 198 lbs. I've been in cross country for the first semester of the school year. Now, I'm in middle distance track. I'm the fattest person, it's so embarrassing and I'm so slow and I can't keep up or do the whole workout with the rest of the team. I'm seriously trying to lose weight but I've only lost 10 pounds (and I gained it back after injury causing me not to run for 7 weeks). I'm trying to lose 60-70 lbs of fat and gain muscle and have a six pack.
diets and cutting down are really hard for me because there are so many temptations!!!.... I'm tired of being made fun of and looking gross. I want to be that super macho dude that can take off his shirt and show off his six pack when running.
Oh, and I have no access to gym equipment. Just me and my room...
    I really need motivation...
f you have any stories , it'd be awesome to hear them!
    thanks

    Monica

try atkins!!!!! i can't even begin to tell you how well it works!!!!! it really changed my life. I lost over 50 pounds went from 184 to 131 (i'm 5Ǝ) it is life changing believe me and it works so fast! look into online. http://www.atkins.com/Program/Overview.a… here is the atkins website. you DO NOT need to buy anything off of this website the diet is really simple. just dont eat very many carbs. only 20 per day for the first two weeks. your body seriously MELTS the fat off so quickly!! you can eat bacon sausage all kinds of proteins and vegetables just no sugars and not many carbs. after two days you dont even crave any of the bad stuff you used to eat and you've lost so much weight in a week that it is hard to stop dieting!! this diet is the only thing that works fast and efficiently. look into it it changed my life for the better :)

you can do this, believe in yourself and stop worrying about what others think of you, it will only hold you back. try to think about how you will be a happier human being and look and feel healthier once you lose weight. you will live longer and be less at risk for some serious illness such as diabetes. looking skinny should not be important or your motivation here---your health should be. being healthier, you will live a longer and happier life. try to think that you are young and it will be MUCH easier for you to lose the weight now then when you are older. if you dont lose it now you may get fatter and fatter and be extremely unhealthy, and most likely unhappy: you wont be able to do simple everyday tasks like most people such as walking a dog for an hour because you will be physically un well and lathargic.
, don't become obsessed over being skinny, but being healthy.
Just remember, the slower you lose weight the more likely you are to keep it off, so it will benefit you in the end, your weight loss sounds healthy and good so far actually.
Also remember to be a ind and happy and confident human being because inner beauty matters more than outer, trust me.
    good luck.

If you are at a neutral state currently (not gaining or losing weight), then even small changes can have a reasonable effect over time, some simple ways to start include taking a longer path between your classes, picking a couple days a week that you avoid junk food, while avoiding any increase on other days. If you just keep trying to do the cross country workouts they will become easier over time and eventually be able to be completed. At 15 don't do anything drastic, many exercise/diet plans are specifically tailored to adults in higher risk ages, and can cause injuries to developing teens. Some more common ways to potentially cut out large chunks of calories include reducing soda intake indirectly by drinking more water (for example add a glass in the morning, one before lunch, one after lunch, and one after dinner), if you get a craving for soda try having a tall glass of water before then decide if you still want one.
quick note about monica's answer, atkins is VERY risky as a teen, known to cause kidney damage and kidney failure particularly to at risk groups (these being teens, adults 65+, and those with former kidney issues)

i used to be 6 ft, 250 ish lbs. Your age. Now almost 3 years later im about 185, i run track, not the fastest, or fattest, but an average joe....i can bench about 165lbs.
I started walking,,, a lot....its easy exercise. i did about 5 miles a day, or 2 hours. I did this with passion for about 3 months, then i threw some light runs into the mix, 1 mile at 10 mins....one thing led to another, then i started a healthy diet, all veggies, no meat. And thats where i got today,,,,im no muscle man, but im not fat anymore, i have good arms, and legs, and a thin waist now, and broad shoulders from my fat youth.

its 90% diet to....thats when the pounds fell off
