Do you like music and dancing? If you do, maybe you can try tuning in or playing a song you like the moment you wake to get yourself going. Do a warm-up 'dance' just before and after your exercise routine to psyche yourself up. Once you're done exercising, don't bother looking at the scale, because although you may be building up good muscle that tones your body and burning fat, the scale will not be able to tell you that.
As for diet, try treating your body as s sort of 'research project'. Only you can control what goes into it, so if you're really determined to keep eating healthy every day of your life, you have to stick it. Although I'd recommend you spoil yourself (in controlled rations of course) once a week so that you don't get overpowering cravings for food you're not allowed to eat :p and also since you'd have something to look forward to after your hard work of sticking to your diet.

2006-05-18 13:30:33The most successful way to begin an exercise routine that will last a life time. Is to create small attainable goals that will challenge you and allow you to reach your final goal. Set a time allowance to meet and exceed that goal. For example someone that runs a mile in 7minutes wants to run a mile in 5.5mins. They need to cut 1min30secs off that time. So in order to make it challenging and attainable they will try to cut their time by ~10seconds every week for about 9 weeks. It will be easily done in the first weeks then it will become a challenge but it the end it will average out and they will meet their goal. Same with any other goal such as body fat loss(weight loss is a terrible thing to do), muscle increase, diet change, etc.

2006-05-18 13:11:10I just get up in the morning & before i have a chance to think about skipping a day, i get started, i dont deny myself any food, i answer all of my cravings but i do so in moderation. when i first feel hunger pangs i drink a big glass of water before eating to see if it is actually thirst that i am sensning. It also dosent hurt the my husband & I work out together & keep each other motivated
