By eat sensibly I mean enjoy a balanced diet (breakfast, lunch and dinner) with lots of fruit and veg with each meal. Allow yourself fast food, a can of coke or chocolate as a treat every now and again. If you totally cut it out, you'd crave it and then possibly binge!
The best exercise is walking- do it more often. Take the stairs instead of the escalators/ elavators. Go on a bike ride at the weekend. Take up a new sport. Exercise doesn't have to be boring. The fun options are endless!

You should eat lots and lots of veggies (raw carrots, broccoli, celery etc is convenient) a couple of pieces of fruit, a can of tuna , or a chicken breast,or lean beef once a day . A few eggs for breakfast. A couple of pieces of whole grain bread, Fill the rest of the day with veggies, Maybe a couple of servings of low or no fat yogurt.

Try to stay away from junk food. Try that stuff occasionally. Eat lots of veggies and fruit. Not too much bread. Start to change your diet slowly, and try a detox. My mom did and loves it! :) She lost like a lot of weight! Try these books or links:

2008-11-27 16:14:49If you really want to lose weight, then it's about compromising. You can't eat whatever you want and expect to look great.
If you have to drink coke, drink coke zero.
If you want McDonald's then have either burger or fries but not both.
If you want chocolates, have one fun size snickers rather than one full size snickers.
It's all about how much calories you consume and how much you spend.
More healthy food you eat, more "satisfied" you feel. You won't have to fight with hunger, which means you can limit your calorie intake without feeling like you are wasting away when you are not.
Junk food is basically full of empty calories. No nutrients.
Which means it'll fill you up for now but your body will feel hungry sooner to get more "nutrients". Consequently you have to go without food when you are hungry, which prompt you to think you are putting in so much effort that you deserve a treat the next day.(you don't) OR you end up eating more to keep yourself from feeling hungry.
Either way, you should consume most of your daily calories from healthy food like vegetables, fruits and some meat and dairy. The trick is to research many cuisines to find a healthy food that you actually enjoy eating.
I make my own stir fry dish with lots of veges and meat. I flavor it with soy + mirin to make it taste like Teriyaki sauce. Korean Chilli Paste is good flavor to use for stir fry as well.
Tuna + cheese(low fat)sandwich with baby spinach and mayo+wasabi is good too.

Sweet potatoes are the best vegetable to eat on a diet. They're loaded with carotenoids, vitamin C, potassium, and fiber. Bake and then mix in some unsweetened applesauce or crushed pineapple for extra moisture and sweetness.
Don't drink milk or other dairy, and only eat lean meat. Milk is loaded with fats and causes health problems.
No coke, it really will rot you're teeth, but you can have fast food once a month or every two weeks. And as for chocolate, go ahead and indulge in 50-80% cocoa. Dark chocolate has up to 3 times more cocoa solids and therefore 3 times more healthy flavanoids than milk chocolate.
