    i'm 15 i weigh 140 and im 4ཇ i want to lose 20 pounds in the month of may i only have time to excercise 3-4 times a week.im not sure what diet to go on and im not sure how much im supposed to excercise each time i do excercise during the week. im not sure what foods i should eat either. or for that matter how many calories i should intake a day in order to lose all this weight.i need help fast.thanks

    first of all good for you!! secondly if you need a diet plan (like week by week) i can make some for you and e-mail it to you. all i need to know is your price range (like how much your willing to spend a week), food allergies, food preferences, and how much time average you are willing to spend on preparing food.
    next you need a time AT LEAST 5 days a week where you go exercise. if you start by speed walking (not running or jogging)1 mile the first week. every week add a extra mile to your walk.

    your only suppose to lose 2 pounds a week anything more is water weight, which you will ALWAYS gain back.

    It's too bad you don't know. You need to walk every day and stop sitting in front of the tv hours at night. Stay active and keep yourself moving around at home, at school, and everywhere else.
    Eat natural foods, mostly fruits and veggies. Don't eat snacks and cakes and ho-hos and stuff like that. Drink water and get some sleep. YOu sould be okay.
    Don't worry about number of calories, worry about keeping yourself active.

    I would suggest you cut down on your food consumption to begin with and continue to exercise and keep physically busy. You want to reach a goal of eating vegetables and fruits, sweet potatoes, not white potatoes. Eat some meats, but eat more fish, also chicken which has been skinned. Diabetes is something that has been coming up in our (American) way of eating. That is why I say no white potatoes. You may wish to check with your doctor. He/she would know best. What I have done is give you some idea of what is healthiest today. Since you are 15 you are still growing. That is why I believe you should have the supervision of a doctor.

    OK girl..calm down..you have asked this too many times. loosing weight is not like sore throat that will take 1-2 weeks pills to get rid off, its a chronic medical condition and needs lots of commitment and patience.
    You have two ways to work on
    1- Diet: read every food label before eating the product, sounds impractical, try it, you will soon learn to stick with certain brand named products which are healthy. you need a 1800 calorie diet per day, with 1 gallon of fluids (1/2 of this water), eat pure honey 1 tea spoonful every morning with a date on an empty stomach. Eat more in early part of the day when your BMR (rate of burning fuel is high) and less as the day progresses.
    2-: Do cardiac work-up (exercise enough to sweat from scalp to toe) the best is swimming (you burn more calories/min by swimming than any other exercise.
    3: just relax and calm down, too much stress of loosing weight and anxiety causes release of hormone's/chemicals in your body that makes you fat. Also try going early to bed so you wake up early before sun rise, why? cos most of the hormone's and chemicals are released from the body early morning when you are sleeping, that makes you fat if there is too much release. The release is minimal if you wake up during this time.
