    I realize that the best exercise is the kind that's intense and causes you to sweat , etc. But instead of doing that, would walking a couple miles five days a week cause weight loss? I mean, I can't imagine all that walking not doing ANYTHING. Besides toning legs obviously. But I mean actual loss of fat. ???

    Walking is great for you. I've done the gyms and the running and walking is the best for me. Take your ipod, take your dog, take a buddy. As long as you're consistently walking for at least 30 minutes a day then that's good exercises. Many people think that running is better and that you burn more calories that way because of all of the moving you do, but, actually,

    As you can see, running may burn a little bit more, but it's not a huge difference according to this website:

    i heard about a recent study this week that has proven that if we take 10,000 steps per day we will negate the need to visit the gym!
    walking is def. going to help you loose weight and become more healthy - and you will ofcourse gain muscle and lose fat - so invest in those scales that measure both weight and body fat so you can monitor your losses, as sometimes weight will remain the same, but body fat and water retention will reduce..

    Yes. Walking also burns calories and anything that increases the calories you burn will decrease weight as long as intake remains the same.
