Ask:Need mini-challenge ideas for a weight loss challenge
2007-04-13 15:16:33We're having a weight-loss challenge at work. We need four mini-challenges, and have three (drink certain amount of water, exercise 30 minutes certain amount of times, soda ban). I need one more. Any suggestions? It would be for a three week period of time.

Answer:Need mini-challenge ideas for a weight loss challenge
2007-04-13 15:45:20I call this the Rick diet: It's actually not a diet. It's just a philosophy on dieting. Counting calories, reading labels, and all that stuff is too much work. You're bound to cheat or forget to do it. Telling yourself you're going to "eat healthy" is too vague of a statement. The best thing to do is set specific goals, or "mini-challenges" as you put it. I suggest tackling two or three at a time of the following:
-Nothing deep fried (Everyone should do this one)
-No Red Meat
-No mayonaise or mayonaise based sauces/dressings
-No soda
-No cheese
-No candy
With these simple goals, no knowledge is needed on nutritional info. This may not be as quick as a "rice and beans" diet, but you can still eat good foods and lose weight. I lost ten pounds in one week by not eating anything deep fried and no red meat.
