2008-08-02 12:50:43is it possible to lose 10 lbs in 20 days? I plan on walking 8 miles a day by doing an hour of cardio in the morning and then in the evening. I know this probably isn't the healthiest thing to do- so please only comments on how i can accomplish this goal- I know all the sensible ways, however they don't interest me!
I plan on fasting for some days, other days eating 1200 cals, and some days eating 600 cals.
do you think this is possible to lose 10 lbs?

2008-08-02 12:58:34Your body will go into starvation mode when you give it so little calories and it'll cling to every ounce of fat you put into your body and you'll stay the same or gain. Also, if you do lose those 10lbs, you'll put them right back on as your metabolism adjusts again. Another thing, if you fast or eat only 600 calories you won't have the energy to work out, trust me on that, i used to never eat more than 600 calories and my body hated me for it. There's also a good chance your body will crave food so much it'll make you binge.
A good idea though is to start eating 5-6 smaller meals during the day plus the cardio you plan on doing. That way you're boosting your metabolism & giving your body something for energy.

2008-08-02 13:17:20i lost 7lbs in 20days and ate 1300calories and only exercised 30mins.,3x a week.
too much stress,like excessive exercise or very low fat diet or too low cals. can slow down weight loss. the book said that you can achieve the same results from eating 1000cals a day as you can eating under 800 cals(starvation level) because of the stress.
you'll probably lose the 10 doing it your way but probably not necessary to be that extreme.if it doesn't work ,you probably overdid it.
