    Need to lose weight fast for an event coming up. Need quick short term weight loss tips. Nothing as radical as swallowing cotton wool balls though!

    Eat 1800-2200 calories a day, and run for 30 minutes 3x/week. Lift weights 3x/week. Rest one day.
    You will lose about 2lbs a week this way, which is the fastest, on average, anyone should ever lose weight (if you want to keep it off and don't want to cause long-lasting damage to your body).
    Temporarily starving yourself will make you lose water weight (up to 10% of your body weight), initially, then you will probably binge eat and put it right back on and then some.
    Liposuction would be quick and easy, though, if you don't have a lot to lose. This is a last resort, as always.

    Its sounds so horrible but cut down on your food DRASTICALLY. eat as healthy as possible and as many small meals as possible. avoid big meals because they stretch your stomach and its hard to get it back to its once smaller size. Also, don't drink a large amounts of liquid at a time either, that'll stretch it too. and stick with it. it takes a lot of self control. good luck

    You can safely lose 2 pounds of fat a week. Here's how:
    1. Burn more calories than you eat. A pound of fat has 3500 calories in it. So you need to burn 7000 calories a week -- that's 1000 calories a day. Here's a caloric needs calculator:

    It's going to give you a number next to "Maintenance." That's the number of calories you eat to be the weight you are right now. So you need 1000 calories less than that.
    2. There are 2 ways to achieve this 1000-calorie deficit: eat less, and exercise more. So if you shave 500 calories of food off what you normally eat per day, and burn 500 calories working out, you'll lose 2 pounds a week.
    3. Eat 5-6 small meals instead of 2-3 big meals. Take whatever you were gonna eat and only eat half at the time and save the other half for later. Try to eat every 2-3 hours. This will keep your metabolism up.
    4. If you eat a big meal, it should be breakfast. Throughout the day, every meal should be smaller than the meal before it.
    5. Don't eat 3 hours before bedtime.
    6. Drink more water. This is a fat-burning tip: kidneys must be hydrated to filter your blood correctly. If they're not, the liver takes over, distracting it from it's other job of metabolizing fat. So fat loss requires hydrated kidneys. Your urine should be clear all day except first thing in the morning.
    7. Eat equal parts protein and carbs, or even more protein than carbs. This keeps your blood sugar stable, and metabolism high. You'll feel fuller faster if you eat more protein.
    8. Drink green tea.
    9. Eat more fiber: fruit, vegetables, whole grain products, oatmeal, brown rice, beans, nuts. Look for the word "whole" on your bread, pasta, tortillas, and cereals.
    10. Do 20-30 minutes of cardio 3 times a week.
    11. Lift weights for about half an hour 3 times a week. This will keep your muscles tone while you burn fat. Otherwise, you'll burn both muscle and fat and look flabby when it's over. Don't exert yourself too much: muscles should only get "torn up" when one is trying to build muscle, not to maintain it. Just keep them active.
    12. Don't try to lose more than 2 pounds a week. Your body will fight back by storing up fat.
    13. Anorexia and bulemia don't work. Girls with eating disorders lose muscle as well as fat, creating the unhealthy look that drives me away.
