2007-07-10 19:46:14I started trying to get fit and in shape 4 weeks ago. Im 16 5ft 11in when i started i was 230 in two weeks of dieting and walking every day i lost 12 lbs. then i started going to da gym i go 5 times a week 1hr 15min of cardio every time i go and weight training on a different area every time. but the weight lost has stopped. any reasons why dis is happening. also if u have any suggestions for supplements please give them to me.

2007-07-18 15:45:38Keep doing what you are doing! Weight loss probably stopped because you started weight training. Muscle weighs more than fat and you are building muscle. I would only suggest that you do more cardio (at least 30 min) and work with light weights.

2007-07-18 15:49:33first of all, it's great that you are motivated and are working out constantly! keep it going.
but what you are eating is probably affecting your weight.
for starters, def. avoid sodas,sugary drinks, and fast food. they are the key for overweight teens. instead, trade in your pepsi with tasty 0 calorie Crystal Lite, or even just refreshing WATER. have skim milk, too.
lots of ice cream in your freezer? tell mom to GET RID OF IT! same with cookies, chips, and even crackers. instead, buy Skinny Cows or sugar free popsicles.
eat lots of veggies and fruit when you want to snack. a little peanut butter on celery can go a long way! have lots of protein food, like yougut. it will keep you full for a long time.
other little eating tricks are eating slowly, you'll soon realize that you'll get full sooner... if you eat fast you're bound to overeat because you're going to fast to know if you're full. also, put less on your plate than you normally do and see if you get full from that. go for the green green veggies, they are the most nutritional! having a salad? fatty dressing can ruin a nice healthy salad, so go for the lite-dressing. a lot of times, people eat when they are bored. make sure you don't do this, keep yourself busy! read, hang out with friends, or even go for a walk when it's a boring day.
also, try other excersize methods. like yoga, swimming, or kickboxing. try different things and see which one works the best for you and is fun and enjoyable.
ALSO, if you buy a health/weight magazine, they have tons of helpful tricks and ways to get weight off : )
