2008-02-23 09:19:00i want to lose around 2 1/2 stone (35 pounds) so iv started eating a very healthy diet and iv also started running everday. im not very good so its walking and running at the moment but i hope to build it up. Is this effective? im also doing situps, squats, lunges and pressups. People are saying running isnt that good though so im confused! Any advice? thanks.

According to most doctors, low impact exercise and resistance training is safest. If running is important to you, you should work your way up to it more as a way of maintenance once you've shed the extra pounds. It is not necessary for weight loss, though. Running can be hard on the joints- especially when you are carrying extra weight. I lost 70 pounds by walking 3 miles (4.8 km) a day for a few months. Also, you might consider aiming for a measurement goal rather than a weight goal. Exercise builds muscle mass, and muscle weighs more than fat. It is possible that you may not lose as much weight as you like while still losing all the inches. Good luck getting healthy!

Supere: Yogurt and powerade....
Drinks throughout the day:
Water, Powerade.... No fizzy drinks
Sports...
Breakfast: Eggs, Toast , Beans And Bacon
Snacks: Pasta (optional) tuna, sweet corn,(nothing Fatty)
Lunch: PASTA
Supere: Yogurt, 5 a day fruits and vegetables
Drinks: Water, Powerade. (Coke exepsional)
Exercise:
Pressups : 30
Push Ups : 15
Squats : 10
Walk : 200 Metres ( somewhere from your house and back)

any form of cardio and a healthy diet eventually equals weightloss.
you sound well on your way to losing the wieght you want gone. just remember your body needs days off to regroup, dont deny it of it. but when you take a day off be preparred to go back to the gym the next day and work your *** off! haha.
