Ask:Running weight loss tips
2008-01-27 20:08:39I want to get better at running, I'm slow, have low endurance, and tire very easily. I also want to lose some weight (about 15 - 20 lbs. or so), any tips? Thanks!

2008-01-27 20:15:32when you're working on getting better at running, it can help a lot if you alternate between running and walking for a certain distance.
e.g. if you're planning to do a mile, you start off running a minute faster than you normally do, then walk a minute. then shorten the amount of time you're walking as you get into better shape, and soon you'll be able to run the whole distance faster.
running's a good start for losing weight, but weight training is also very important, because muscle burns more calories than fat. i admittedly don't know a whole lot about weight training because i am not the most dedicated of exercisers (just a runner/biker), but you may want to look into it.
