Ask:does stress correlate with weight loss
2008-11-07 17:10:13I'm in my 20's, and for the last 9 months i have been excercising intensly 5 days a week while maintaing a healthy diet (vegies, fruit, beans etc.)
I work in construction and have to do alot of digging, carrying bricks, etc and i consider myself to be doing all the right things
i've lost 24 pounds/12 kilos but i'm not slim like my co-workers, some of which lost alot more weight since starting there and they eat twice as much as me
i'm usually very wired and stressed, always anxious about things
i know it effects my health and well being, but does it also play a part in achieving weight loss?
cheers

2008-11-07 17:16:52stress can harm efforts to lose weight, but doesn't necessaily mean that it will or does. It is usually the effects of stress rather than the stress itself. You should find ways to lose some of that stress though. its not healthy to be over stressful, and doesn't lead to a happy life. try worrying only about the things you can actively do something about. if it already happened there's no need to stress over it. there's nothing you can do about it. if its something someone else does, you stressing about it won't stop them. so you would be doing yourself a favor by trying to not be stressed out so much
