2006-05-17 23:58:57It's all about will power. The best diet in the world won't work if you don't have the faith and desire and will power to see what is going to be a very challenging time ahead!
I joined weight watchers and follow the points programme - it's very good you can still have a little bit of what you love. Also exercise - one must go hand in hand to tone your body.
When I joined in the first 2 weeks I lost 16 lbs - wow I thought more than a stone in my 1st fortnight. Obviously it doesn't stay like this it begins to settle down after that but I can still on a good week lose 4 - 5 lbs.
I was 15 stone 3 lbs when I joined 8 weeks ago and I have now lost 40lbs I am now 12 stone 5 lbs. I'm not saying it has been easy some weeks are better than others but I can't believe how much I have lost - nearly 3 stone in 8 weeks.
Also I am sick of wearing big knickers lol and having to pay over the odds for clothes and generally being shocked and disgusted when I see my reflection in shop windows. I should never let myself get this big I am only 5 ft 1 in.
I bought a fridge magnet saying fridge pickers wear much bigger knickers, I also have a picture of Gwen Steffani and J lo on the fridge and cupboard to give me extra inspiration and it's working. I promised myself last year that this would be my last fat summer. The support of my family has also helped me a great deal.
I know I still have a long way to go I want to be less than 10 stone, about 9 and a half and I am joining the gym with my daughter this weekend - until now I didn't have the confidence to. I go out walking after my dinner at night with my boyfriend and can't believe how much I have enjoyed it.
My advice would be to stay focused and tell yourself that you are going to do it this time and you will. You must believe in yourself go on go and shock everyone! Good luck sorry this has turned out to be a bit of a novel lol.

2006-05-17 23:41:20Well, doc prescribe me some phony sugar pills once and told me it would help me eat better and exercise more. Made me feel like quiet the dumbass realizing it was all me that lost the weight (40 lb.) but it worked lol.
I didn't use much variety, just the tread mill at a constant 5 mph for 7 miles straight. Did the body good and running kept getting easier by the dozen. I am now working at 5-6 mph 2" elevation 9 miles straight. I guess the key was to set realistic minimums and know that if you haven't reached that minimum, your giving in.
A PLACEBO thats what they called, haha, finally remembered.

2006-05-17 23:45:09cutting out on all yummy things is tortous and very difficult too and makes u binge wild when u cant take it anymore.
So, dont stop just limit the portions. if u have to hv chocolate, stop after 1-2 bites, take smallest scoop of ice cream and snack on roasted stuff instad of fried.

2006-05-18 01:17:24since u stay in dubai you tend to eat alot of fried and fatty foods there. having stayed theref or three yers i put on 10 kgs during thattime .what you can do is avoid eating the ready to eat foods that are easily available. eatmore of fruits and vegetables and all kinds of healthy food. instead of having the reuglar milk have skimmed milk or low fat milk.

But use what works for you. Get your favorite tunes dl'd and get a state of mind and set weekly goals. They say it's not good to weigh yourself everyday, but it actually is, so if you set weekly goals, you'll see weekly results. And test yourself, push yourself, persuade yourself, and maybe even trick yourself. Buy something you want to get into. Don't let it happen overnite or too soon, will definately harm your health. 2lbs a month is safe and reasonable and adds up over time. If you decide to take supplements always start with the minimal dose to see how your body reacts, but it's not for everyone. Hydroxycutt didn't work for me but Ripped Fuel did a 360 on the abs.

2006-05-17 23:46:03You should eat healthy and excercise...it doesnt always have to be something you dont like to do like run...you can do whatever you want...i dance randomly to music i like and it works...
i also eat healty..but a treat once in a while wont hurt!
oh stay away from McDONALDS!!!!!!! the worst thing you can do to yourself.
FYI: crunches do not help very much if you want to lose flab around your stomach...you should work out your whole body and youll see results.
also do not over exurt yourself no matter what
if you are feeling weak like you cant go on than stop. do not keep going
also keep checking your pulse rate
depending on how long and how hard you work out the higher your pulse rate is the more your losing.
one more thing... eat food that will give you long lasting energy like fruits...
