    I made an alternate account simply to post this question, due to fear somebody that knows me before I moved and gained weight might see it, I am a little embarressed :(.
    I weigh 285 pounds (no joke, please no rude comments). I gained weight after I moved away from home. I stupidly kept eating the same way I did when I was at a much higher activity level and it spun out of control.
    Anyway, my husband has gone off to school for the Navy, and I want to start losing weight finally, for my health first and foremost. Any sort of little tips and tricks would be great. I had already lost 5 pounds from simple diet changes.
    Also, I am quitting smoking and finding that I can walk more as I smoke less, so I'ma keep workin on that of course.
    Last thing, I must ask that people who go "CARBZ R BAD" please don't bother. With my weight loss, if I cut out carbs that much, I would end up with a lot more loose skin than I would already. Low carb diets have been linked to loose skin after weight loss.

    I will go through the steps you need to take starting with the most simple.
    1. Drink only water & a lot of it. Do not drink any sugar beverages such as juice or soda. Drinking enough water where you are never thirsty and your body will never have the chance to mistake thirst for hunger.
    2. Start exercising, like you said walking is a start. Weight training will keep your metabolism high enough you will burn calories at an accelerating weight, you need not have a worry about getting "bulky" Concentrate on full body, large muscle group exercises. You may not be able to do much at first, but you will get better.
    3. Only eat lean, low fat foods and Low glycemic carbohydrates. Everybody has a different "best diet" for them. Low glycemic carbs will give you sustainable long lasting energy and most importantly fiber. You must eat enough fiber and that means LOW GLYCEMIC fruits and vegetables. A diet a friend of mine lost 40 pounds on is the Select Carbohydrate Diet http://scdiet.org it is very difficult to follow but my friend who has Chron's disease credits it with literally saving his life.
    4. Don't give up, and don't think too much. Work hard and have self disclipline and you will be rewarded with a new body.

    Walk 5 minutes every hour on the hour for 8-12 hours, five days per week. Gradually increase the duration to 8 minutes every hour on the hour for 8 hours per day, 5-6 days per week. Your metabolism will drastically increase.
    Simultaneously cut your food intake by about 20% - nothing drastic.
    The combination of these two things will get you down to size fairly quickly. It shouldn't take you more than six months of this to lose 100 pounds or more.

    Step 1: Substitute your cravings for food to cravings for survival (via exercising more so that you'll burn more calories and your heart will be able to function more properly).
    Step 2: Accept that you are a special person whether you weight 285 lbs or 105 lbs. Love yourself and you will always look good no matter what you weigh.
    Step 3: Relax and understand your limitations.
    Step 4: Do not punish yourself while on your quest to lose weight. Do not think negative thoughts when you crave for food. Once in awhile, a chocolate is ok but have strict rules to follow (If you by a dozen donuts, you must give two to your friends for every one you eat for yourself).
    Step 5: Start with easy goals (lose 5 lbs in 2 weeks) and keep goals over 2 week intervals.. Try to plan two weeks in advance: remember the golden rule: burn more calories than you consume.
    Step 6: Have you heard of the book "Heavy Lettuce" by John Flynn? It's a great book and it talks about weight lose from the perspective of the author who has been on every conceivable diet known. Read it and I think you will understand the pitfalls and hopefully you will better understand yourself which is the most important thing needed to succeed.

    Surgery is not the answer.
    Calculate you BMR with the link below.Decrease your calorie intake by 300calories and exercise for an hour every other day.The website below has other tools as well that are just great! Try it out,it will help you keep track of what you eat.most importantly IT'S FREE

    You can really lose the weight if you just remember to eat five times a day, but make those meals smaller. If you don't have time to each five times just keep your portions small and remember to eat lots of veggies and proteins. Take your excersise slowly, build up your endurance. Cardio is your best bet to losing the weight and then tone with push-ups and abs after you've lost the weight.

    This is what I did 255 pounds 5 ft 7 inch tall
    Cut all Fried/oily food. No Soda.
    Workedout 6 days a week. 30 mnts cardio. 3 times a week mild weight training.
    Ate around 1800 calories a day. Proten(lean meat, veg) and Fibre rich vegetables(roasted) and fruits.
    1 cheat day to eat fave food...but that day I workedout for 1.5 hrs
    Reached 200 lbs from 255 in 5 months

    eat healthy-no sugar related foods,exercise daily(30 minutes a day) go walking outside for like three times a day)

    u know if u want 2 lose weight n a specific way then u should go 2 a nutritionist
    every diet u'll try on ur own will have side effects
    specially that u want an extreme weight loss u'll end up with loose skin unless u do the proper exercise with t
    + alot of people try different diets that r very harmful 4 there body
    and they r actually loosing important substances rather than fat
    my advice don't take chances and check with a professional
    beside what u loose fast u gain fast
    unless it is a life changing it wont last

    if i was u dont be embarassed cuz we come in different shapes and sizes and everyone is pretty in there own way it doesnt really matter the look but the person inside u..watever happens always remember that u have family to help u but dont get upset over ur weight just try to keep urself away from junk food and try to only eat 3 meals a day..=..trust me it will work and dont give up alright as long as u have the courage 2 do it youll make it and try not to listen to the ppl in the world that make fun of chuby ppl its just that they hate cuz were all the same but except some have more specialty in them because of the person that they are..so yea dont give up i kno that u have it in u...=
