2007-12-12 16:59:01What are some of your best weight loss tips? Im trying to lose about 20lbs but I don't want a "diet" I want to watch what I eat and I honestly don't have time for exercise. I stay so busy. I work online, plus I homeschool my 2 kids. (One of them have a type of autism) I do eat out a lot!! What are some good choices at fast food chains? What are some good tips I can use during the day..... Im gonna try and increase my water also. I would love to find a message board I can post on with my food intake everyday and people can read it and post on it if they want.

2007-12-12 17:03:35um buy jolly ranchers or fire balls and suck on them throughout the day b/c they are low calorie and low fat if not fat free. They are a good substitute for snacking...plus if you eat a fire ball then your mouth is a little "on fire" and it really suppresses your appetite b/c after you have not taste for cookies or cakes or whatever you snack on )

2007-12-12 17:30:35I've put on some extra weight lately also and need to lose. I have been trying to walk often. Currently have a cold and have to lay low, but I want to get up to five miles a day and try it daily once I get in shape. I used to be a mail lady, but now have chronic back problems/arthritis of the spine, but I think I can still get this chubby body to walk at least five miles a day. I also broke my leg badly a few years ago so that also has hampered my efforts.
I may have to actually start dieting also. If you eat out often, don't you see the commercials about Subway Sandwiches? The suggestion about not eating after 6 is good. A co worker told me she lost 25 lbs doing that, and she was eating a big mac as she was telling me the story. Try eating half of what you usually eat, or cut down portions. You really need to get some exercise in there no matter how busy to get your metabolism going.

2007-12-12 17:04:00You can start by not eating after about 6. Your matabolism slows down and your body will burn calories slower. You should also try ordering salads since you eat out a lot, and drink lots of water, so you will use the bathroom more, and get some of your water weight off.

2007-12-13 00:31:24Hi, Like you I am a busy Mum, I also have an Autistic son. For the past year I have been following WW. I have not joined up just followed their points system. It's very easy to do and I have not felt as if I was dieting at all.
My top tips would be to make sure you drink 2 litres of water (or squash) a day as this really helps. Also to limit the amount of bread you have.
Perhaps cut down portion size too. An average portion is considered to be around 150g rice/potato/pasta plus whatever else you have. Obviously the more active you are and your height can alter this slightly.
Try and get your 5 fruit and veg a day. Not always easy but if you use veg to bulk out meals instead of meat then they soon add up.
I have tried to buy a new vegetable each week when I shop and it is surprising how many I actually like.
I use the board on WW to keep up with the latest ideas and recipes, and to get advise on healthy eating.
Hope all that helps. But if not....at least you know one day you will have a perfect body!

2007-12-13 00:52:04Try fasting during daylight hours - it is not as hard as you think. As long as you prepare for it properly at the start of the day.
An extra bonus - it gives you extra time when you are not spending time eating!
