how much could i lose? How fast.
Weight loss isn't the main reason I'm now vegan (but it is a factor),

The weight that falls off will be easy to maintain b/c of your diet.

Best wishes.
Answer:Vegan weight loss questions
2008-09-28 07:52:50I lost a lot of weight when I was vegan, and then I gained it all back and more when I found out about all the vegan sweets and deserts I could still eat.
The thing is, you need protein in your diet, right? Non-veggies can get their protein from meat. Vegetarians can get protein from cheese, nuts, seeds, dairy products, eggs etc. Vegans get basically all the same sort of protein as vegetarians except for dairy products and eggs.
The problem is, a LOT of places still don't have vegan options. Vegetarian options almost always include cheese. So, suddenly, when you're eating out, all you are eating is salad. Also, at first, a whole wack of sweet stuff is cut out from your diet.
But, you will soon learn how to bake vegan treats. And, many vegans start carrying around nuts with them, or using peanut butter as a sandwich filling instead of cheese and veggies. Nuts and peanuts have a lot of fat if you think about how much of them it takes to actually fill a person up.
So, if you plan right and you don't eat out a lot, you won't lose any weight. If you don't plan and you eat out a lot, you'll lose weight. If you start eating lots of vegan sweets and rely on nuts for all your protein, you'll actually gain weight.
I've been vegetarian since I was a little kid and when I was 17 I switched to being vegan for a few years. Now I'm back to just a regular veggie.
Good luck on keeping your weight under control with the drastic diet change!
