    i do know about exercise, find it hard to fit in, plus gym expencive anything i can be doing at home for free?? any tips would be greatly appreciated thankyou,

    belive it or not, it is really that easy. diet and excersice. I went on a low cal diest- 1000- 1200 calories a day, and i have lost 20 lbs because of it. i also excersise on a regular basis. i run a lot and do pilates in the winter which REALLY works....and they only cost about 20$.....compared to gym prices, which i cant afford either. i hope this works for you...its does for me

    The most effective diet is the Sir Stanley Matthews diet. The famous footballer started his diet when he became a professional footballer.
    On Mondays eat nothing. Tea, coffee, fruit juice, no sugar is allowed also water.
    Start this diet from the last meal you eat on a Sunday. Let us suppose you ate your last meal at 2pm Sunday lunch. You eat nothing until 2pm on Monday. Remember, you'll probably be sleeping for 8 hours during that 24 hour stretch. At 2pm on Monday, eat a normal lunch.
    On this diet you are not required to give up any of your favourite foods. You must fast for 24hours every seven days - that is, one day per week. Monday is the easiest.
    On the Sir Stanley Matthews diet, you will not lose weight rapidly, but you will notice a slow change over time, so that eventually you get back to a normal weight - the weight you are comfortable with, without crashing or losing heart.
    For exercise try walking, not a mad dashing route march, just a stroll to stretch your legs. Try a mile and a half first day out. Increase this to two miles the next week and then add half a mile per week until you have managed to walk all the way to work. Take a ride home, you deserve it.

    Eat less food and you will lose weight (harsh but true) I lost 3 stone in weight about 4 years ago and everyone I knew said " It will all go back on" etc etc.. But I proved them wrong. Ask yourself two questions before you eat a big meal.... DO I WANT TO WEAR THIS AROUND MY WAIST FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE. and AM I REALLY HUNGRY. Works for me. Good luck with your diet.

    if you go regular cycling it helps and swimming too, also swapping fizzy drinks to plain water hope ive helped from devils sweetheart

    Push bike works well with me.
    In winter I increase my lovemaking frequency to nearly three times per day. I have never gained weight in winter. I am 32.

    I lost 4 stone through sheer determination. You really really must want to lose weight. You Cant be half hearted at the approach of the diet. Choose a diet that will suit. I wish you all the best, If I can do it, you can.

    Weight is 99% the result of diet. Exercise just helps firm up the skin after the weight is lost. Of course, if someone runs 10 miles a day and doesn't eat anything additional they will lose a few ounces. When you diet please remember that you have to eat the minim daily requirements of nutrients or your body will go into the starvation mode and you can't lose weight. Five pounds a month is a good goal, just don't backslide. Good Luck!

    My ideas? Try to do 200 minutes of cardio a week. Remember fat does not turn into muscle, so you need to lose your fat while putting on muscle. Work hard, but don't over 60 minutes at a time. Do planks and other abs exercises on alternate days.
    On training days, do 5-10 minutes of cardio to warm up, then do your weight training. Do 30 to 60 minutes more of cardio, then go home.
    The best time to eat is just after your workout within an hour when your metabolism is raging. For your muscles, incorporate some isolated soy protein or whey protein. Whey is more potent but the soy tastes better!
    Don't look at your scale as the be all and end all, but get a measuring tape to check your progress, and that will show more tangible results.
    Read magazines like Shape, Womens Fitness, Fitness, etc to get tips and to stay motivated.
    Good luck and stick at it. This plan has lost me 20 lbs in 12 weeks so far, just go for it!

    Hi i felt like you that you dont fit in, i never joined the gym as i havent the confidence, but nothing i was trying made me lose weight. So i went to Weight Watchers and it was the best thing i have done, i was a nwevous wreck but everyone was great and they give you loads of support. You can always get a family memeber to go with you. I lost 1stone within 3 months and it worked. You will get everything you need to do the diet.Its all about portion control and points counting. But if you dont want to go to the weight watchers if you are to shy. Then just cut in half everything you eat and stick to it and weigh your self every week from the day you start your diet and keep track of what you eat.

    There are lots of websites with free info or get the book a the library. I liked it because you loose every day...even the first day.

    The best form of exercise for me was walking. I get really sore knees often, so cannot run or jog.
    Following a healthy diet and walking for around 30-40 mins per day/night and I lost a healthy 5 pounds a week! I lost a total of just over four stone! I was the slimmest I have EVER been, it really works. If you get bored with the walking, it is a good idea to alternate nights with sit ups!
