    Ask:Wedding weight loss

I'm getting married in October, and a wedding store in my area starting a bride-to-be weight loss challenge. Whichever girl loses the most weight in a 12 week period wins a $3k wedding gown, a photo package and flowers so I MUST win! In two weeks, I've lost a total of 13 pounds, eating 5 small healthy meals a day, eliminating "bad" carbs (just getting carbs from whole grains, yogurts, etc) and working out 5 days a week, all with cardio (either eliptical or treadmill), 3 days a week I do weight training.. However I need to know what to do to keep to keep the momentum going, because I HAVE TO WIN! I'm neck in neck with another girl, and I need this so badly! The first week I lost 8 pounds, last week I lost 5, I am afraid it will decrease each week. Please don't tell me it's not healthy to lose this much, if you're eating right and enough it's more than healthy, we are worknig with nutritionists in this group.
    THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!!!! :D

Your weight loss isn't so bad, ten pounds a week is good. You have to keep your goal in sight and learn to change your eating habits, not just for now, but later also, or you will put it right back on and the dress won't fit. You have to be doing it for the right reason also, or you will loose your momentum.

cocaine or diet pills, but I DONT RECOMMEND either.
what you are doing is healthy, don't push your body too hard, making yourself sick to win.

It sounds like you have about 9 weeks left so right now I would focus a lot on free weights with your arms and any kind of resistance moves (pushups, pull-ups, lunges, squats) If you are on the treadmill, start off at 2.5 incline at about 3 mph. Every couple of minutes, increase your incline until you get to 15% and stay there as long as you can. You want to do everything you can to increase your muscle mass until the last couple of weeks. When you have three weeks left, start doing more cardio (running is the best) and yoga. Stop lifting about 2 weeks before your weigh in and do only cardio, but as much as you can get in.
As far as diet goes, right now you want to eat a lot of fruits and veggies and good lean protein like egg whites, chicken breasts and salmon is good. When you have 3 weeks left, start cutting back on the salt and bad carbs like potatoes, bread, pasta, and definitely sugar! Contrary to what a lot of people think, eating salads is not the best right before your weigh in. They bloat you and are really hard on your digestive system so don't eat those before you weight (probably about a week before). Keep drinking the water like crazy and drink some green tea everyday (without sugar - try splenda). I promise you, you will see results. That is what I did before my wedding and it worked. The only regret I have is that I didn't stop lifting weights 2 weeks before the wedding. My arms looked too big for my taste. Good luck! You can do this!

Continue to drink lots of water, maybe only drink milk and water. Try adding 15-30mins to your carido training each week. Try doing aerobics to. I think you're doing great. You can only try your best. Keep us all posted.
    Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!
oh maybe you should see your doctor, if your metabolism is too slow he can prescribe something to speed it up (my fianc?? had to do this)

Start an internal cleansing program right away. Junk gets backed up in your system, your intestines, and you drop scale weight quickly by flushing it out. I prefer doing the 5 day fasting cleanse but it's not necessary to fast. They have all kinds. I use Nature's Secret (either Ultimate Cleanse or Super Cleanse) and you can buy it online at Vitacost.com or you can get it usually at Mother's Market, Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, etc. That same brand also has a 15 day weight loss cleanse but it wasn't strong enough in my opinion. It's all natural anyway & very good for your system.
Also, I'm sure you want to be toned but don't go too hard on the weight training. Muscle weighs more than fat & a lot of people are perplexed when their clothes are looser but the scale weight isn't going down. It's because of the additional muscle.
One thing I do to lose weight is eat soup. It's quick, healthy, easy to digest. I like Campbell's Chunky Chicken with White & Wild Rice and the Fajita Chicken is really good too. Very low in fat but super yummy with lots of protein.
Drink a lot of water too & stay away from alcohol.
