    Yesterday, I went for my physical and found that I have gained 20 lbs. over the past 18 months. I really want to take the weight off and get back in shape. I eat a very healthy organic diet based on whole grains, lean protein, and produce, so I know my diet is not the issue...it's exercise. I did start a new job recently that requires me to sit behind a desk all day. I was wondering if anyone has some ideas as to how to incorporate more exercise into my work day, as my evenings are consumed by school work. Is there anything I can do at my desk to burn more calories?

    I sit at a desk all day long also so I know how easy it can be to start packing on the pounds while not eating much.
    Google isometric exercises. An isometric exercise is where you use the force of your own body weight and strength against itself. You can do these anywhere and no one will even know when you are doing them. There almost isn't a part of your body that you can't work out with isometric exercises and you do them when ever you think about it.
    If you get 2 breaks and a 30 minute lunch, take 30 minutes a day if possible and walk. You'll still have the other 30 minutes to eat lunch or be with your friends.
    What I like is that not only does no one know when you are doing them, it also doesn't break you into a sweat.
    You can also do them while doing school work.

    OK first i would like to say I know how you feel what i do is i drink a slim fast drink in the am w/ an orange then at lunch i drink 1 more w/ an apple and walk my lunch brake and at night i eat dinner I lost 5 pound the first week it really works get the slim fast drink that curve your hunger for at least 4 hours

    Sure... walk everywhere and dont use the elevator. Make sure to drink plenty of water (I mean ALOT of water) since this has helped me stabilize my weight since I too sit a desk all day long. walk around the office on your break and if you cant do that then drive to a park and walk there... just some ideas...

    What works for me is working out at lunchtime. During lunch, go for a walk, even if it's just around your building...or better yet, if you can find a gym close by, do a quick (20-30 min) workout there. Grab something quick for lunch (I find yogurt to be good) and call it good.

    Yep. No snacking at work, take short walks on your break. Don't sit all day and send people for stuff sometimes you can walk and get them. Inside of e-mail docs you can actually carry them to the person who needs it. things like that will get you move throughout your work day. good luck
