Ask:Weight Loss due to teaching 10 classes a week of aerobics no period for a year 1 2-any known side effects
2008-06-08 15:30:56I am a 33 year old woman who teaches 10 classes of aerobic's, step, cardio kick boxing and pilaties. I became certified about a year and a half ago. Now, I was heavier and did exercise regularly, but wanted to loose weight. Well, while going thru the training to become certified, the hours combined, gruling work outs I have not had a period since Apirl of 2007. Now, I really don't miss my period but I am wondering what the side effects of not having my period this long is? I realize that the loss of my period is now due to low body weight and losing the weight I have. I am 5Ɗ & I was 140 pounds. I am now 111/112 currently. I did get down lower, but put more weight on because I thought I was too thin. I really want to stay at 111/112 pounds! Also- how many calories can I technically take in a day without dipping too low on the calorie chart? I usually take in about 1500-to 1600 calories. Please, help with any suggestions/comments that you may have! Thank you!

2008-06-08 15:38:08Please don't count calories. Just eat better.
I have lost fat and have gained better health by following this and the other program I mention in My Profile.
You will get everything you need by eating the following:
Raw leafy green veggies (romaine, red and green leaf lettuces, kale spinach, etc)
Solid green veggies - raw, steamed or frozen (asparagus, broccoli, cabbage, peas, peppers, etc)
Non-green, non-starchy (beets, mushrooms, onions, tomatoes, etc)
Beans/legumes - cooked, canned or sprouted ( chickpeas, pinto beans, black beans, etc)
Fresh fruits (apples, bananas, oranges, watermelon, etc)
Starchy veggies (white potatoes, sweet potatoes, squash, corn, carrots, etc)
Whole grains (barley, millet, oats, brown rice, quinoa, etc)
Raw nuts and seeds (almonds, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, etc)
Do not skip breakfast. Oatmeal with fresh fruit. No sugar or milk. Rice or almond milk is better. Smoothies can be good too, depending on what you put in it.
You don't have to eat eggs, fish or meat for protein. You can still eat them, but a huge salad with some chicken would be better.
Don't count calories or carbs. Diets and pills don't work. Man made vitamins are just that "man made". Man can not copy all the nutrients that are found in live foods. Raw leafy greens are the highest in nutrient density.
Drink filtered water. City water may have added chemicals. Can you really trust bottled water?
Pop is one of the worst things you can put in your body. Stay away from sugar, junk food and fast food.
