2008-02-17 16:37:20How can I lose 5 lbs in a month and curb my junk-food cravings? I'm 5Ƌ.5 right now and 119lbs, but soon, all this junk food eating is going to catch up with me! Plus, there is some excess fat over my abs that I want gone. Advice? Thanks!

2008-02-22 08:08:47Hey Kat
For anyone trying to loss or gain weight it is very difficult. I don't know of anyone who has not fallen off of a diet or stopped going to the gym(I am a victim of this) and tried many times to get back on the ball. Consistency is key in trying to loss weight.
A lot people like to start off on these big huge diets and these big workout plans when that is not the important thing. Disciplining yourself in a small but consistent plan will be beneficial because now your commitment has been filled and you start to gain more confidence in your abilities to stick to a game plan.
Eliminating sweets completely is not good because our bodies needs sweets, not an overdose of sweets, but just enough. Just think about why do some people have to take insulin shots, because there bodies aren't getting enough sweets.
I would slow down on the junk food little by little(remember we are trying to build consistency)and instead of eliminating it try to replace it with something that you do like. For example if you get an urge to have a box of donuts, instead of the donuts get something that is less sweet than the donuts and just keep doing that until get that box of donuts is out of your diet.

2008-02-17 16:49:29Buy a ring that fits your ring finger, really snugly. Try really hard to avoid sugars and salts. When the ring gets loose, switch it around to different fingers. It is a constant reminder to stay away from things that will make it fit tightly again. And if you screw up and it gets snug, don't freak out. It should be an even bigger reminder to stay away from bad foods.

2008-02-17 16:59:49The number one factor in losing weight is always motivation. Make sure you get yourself in the right mind set before trying to commit to a diet change. There are a ton of ways to lose weight, healthily, that is. For your current situation with junk food, I would suggest replacing the junk food with other foods that are better for you and less caloric. There are a lot of things that you can snack on that taste good. For example, granola bars, and rice crispy treats, (store bought), are much better for you than potato chips/other junk food. Also, try replacing one meal a day with cereal, preferably something low in sugar. Plain Cheerios are probably the best for the price, they're cheap and VERY good for you. My personal choice is Crispix, just as good as Cheerios but I think they taste a lot better. Don't try changing too much too soon, this should be a gradual change so you're MIND can get used to eating better and not give into new cravings. I would also recommend exercising. Personal experience tells me that jogging for about 20 minutes every day or so (NOT sprinting or running) does wonders for burning fat and tightening your abs. Be advised though, exercising more often will make you hungry more often, just be sure to stay motivated and not over do it, and you'll be fine. Hope this helps!

2008-02-19 05:24:55Hello
Some interesting new research by a doctor has identified several species of parasites and a specific type of goopy plaque that if left in your bowels makes you fat, bloated, developing a pouch and spare-tire belly.
This is the cause of people???s obesity -- fortunately, this research also reveals how to stop it. It further explains that the same cause of why people get fat is also the same reason why people eventually get sick and die prematurely -- often cutting off years from their lives (not to mention the quality of their lives).
People who flush these parasites out, often report rapid weight losses up to 100 lbs or more -- and without changing a single thing about their diets. Not that you need to lose anywhere near that amount... but it does prove how well it works.
