    To lose 45 lbs, I'm guessing it may take up to half a year, about six months. Maybe seven, if you're doing it the right way.
    Try eating more fruits and veggies in place of other fatty meals, like junk food, cookies, or high calorie meals. Like most people (I'm guilty sometimes!), you've probably brainwashed yourself into thinking that fast food tastes better than healthy food, but that's not entirely true! Try eating more grapes, clemintines, apples chunks in vanilla yogurt (good for sweet cravings!), blueberries, hummus (it sounds gross but it's really not, especially with Wheat Thins or Food Should Taste Good brand whole grain chips! I personally like garden vegetable or tomato flavored), granola, low-fat yogurt, low-fat string cheese, LITE whole wheat bread, 100 - calorie popcorn / kettle corn bags, steamed broccoli with a buttery garlic sauce etc. I also snack on South Beach Diet oatmeal chocolate chip cookies, they're good AND pretty healthy! And eat SLOWLY. Take one bite at a time, chew completely, then take another bite. If you eat slower, you'll become fuller quicker, and you won't overeat.
    Incorporate more exercise into your daily life. Take the dog for a 20 minute walk, do jumping jacks while watching TV, do laps around the block, or the house for that matter. Don't let yourself sit down for too long. If you can, get a gym membership. I use an elliptical for 30 minutes 5-6 times a week and it works great for me.
    And don't eat out of boredom! It's a nasty habit to break, TRUST ME. Whenever you feel like eating, watch a movie with no commercial breaks so you don't have time to get up, call a friend, read a book or magazine, or get out of the house, away from the food.
    I recently lost weight, about 20 lbs, and what really helped for me was planning my meals. I planned when and what I was going to eat, and made sure the calorie count was 1400. It may be different depending on your needs, but never go under 1200! Whatver you do, don't let yourself stray from your plan. Write it all down or type it out and leave it up on your computer so you don't forget, that's what I do.
    And don't "DIET". Because the moment you go off your "diet", you'll regain the all the weight you lost quickly, believe me. Instead, make "healthy living choices."
    You'll never get to your "ideal" body by eating crap food and sitting around, no matter how much you want it to happen. It takes dedication to get the body you want! Make it like a game. How much weight can I lose? Prove it to yourself you DO have the willpower to get what you want.
    But allow yourself a cheat day every now and then. Life is too short! If you restrict your body of all the "good foods", you will one day EXPLODE and eat everything in sight. Trust me!

    I say you need to see either your family doctor or your gym teacher at school. You have to learn how to properly lose weight at your age because if you don't it could lead to further health problems. The doctor can help you choose a diet and exercise program that's good for you and your heart. Improperly losing weight could possible hurt you in the long run rather than help you!

    hey carito if your serious about losing weight and your life style.You need keep on a workout regement that becomes part of your life style.and no fast food.you can eat all the fruits and vegees you can handle.allways eat small amounts of meat 6-8 oz lean meat.drink lots of water and yes you can have piece of pie or cake once in awhile. good luck.

    the only proper way to lose weight is a low calorie diet and excersise. I know that might not be what you want to hear but it is the only way.
    have around 1, 800 calories a day accompanied by 1 mins cardio. You should lose weight quickly. Eat small meals often. Rather than 3 big meals a day have six small meals a day. This will speed up your motabolism.
    dont make the mistake that i made an do a really low calorie diet and a lot of excersise though because it slows your motabolism down, putting your body into "starvation mode" and it is harder to lose weight this way.

    Please bear in your mind:
    To lose a pound of weight a week you must create a 3500-calorie deficit, or burn 500 calories per day more than you eat. Here's an example of how a 150 lbs. person would achieve that:
    Your daily calorie intake to lose 1lb. per week:
    Add a zero to your body weight 150lbs + 0= 1500
    Add 20% for extra daily activity +300
    Daily caloric rate = 1800
    Subtract 500 calories a day -500
    (by eating 500 calories less or by burning 500 calories through exercise)
    Total = 1300
    EXPLANATION:
    So to lose a pound a week, a 150 lbs. person needs to create a 500 calorie deficit from 1800 calories by either exercising or eating less.
    Just substitute your own body weight to the above formula, for you to figure out the right amount of calories that your body need.

    First of all do not diet. Eat ALMOST everything but in moderation. Avoid fruits, bread, pasta and greasy food. Eat tons of vegetables and exercise.
    To maintain your current weight you need to eat 3040 cal per day. To maintain a 145 body weight you'd need to eat at your age 2130 cal per day.
    Start counting calories. I suggest you eat around 1700 cal per day and exercise 4 times a week minimum. Try to burn at least 400 calories everytime you exercise. If you do that you will lose 45 lbs in about 10 to 12 weeks.
