    Hey there. (:
I have been trying to lose weight for about a year. I can't do it.
I went to the hospital last month, and foud out I have hypothyroid.
Two days later, I went to my family doctor, got tested l, an she says I do not have it. So I can't get the medicine.
But I do not eat bad.
I eat breakfast, then a small lunch, and an okay dinner of normal things suh as chicken or broccoli.
When I was younger, about 14 I lost 20 lbs in a solid month and a half. I ate like **** too lol. I mean I must have consumed at least 4000 calories a day. And even after I stopped working out I kept losing weight.
I'm about 30 lbs heavier then I'd like to be. I would like to be back to about 140. I'm only 5Ɖ, but I carry my weight well because I'm hour glass shaped. Could somebody please help me? Like a plan I could follow to lose like 3 to 5 pounds a week? I don't mind if it's hard core. But I will not be bulimic or anorexic. That's just wrong. :(
Help please? :) I'm tired of feeling big. I'm not as big as some of my friends , but I'm still big. :(

You can only safely lose up to two pounds a week and keep it off without doing anything upstairs

Try counting calories. You need to eat at least 1200 per day no more then 2000. If you eat less then 1200 your body will go into "starvation mode" and will retain anything you put into it thinking 'idk when ill get food next' its weird i know but its true.
To figure out how many calories your body burns at rest(basically the energy it takes to function and breath) for women its 10 x "body weight in pounds" for men its 11 x "body weight in pounds"
Example: Sally weights 150lb, her body will burn around 1500 calories at resting rate. So if Sally eats 1200 calories today her body will burn a minimum of 300 calories. If Sally exercises or works at a job that requires physical activity the amount of calories burned today will be increase.
    3500 calories = roughly 1 LB
Your body naturally can lose 1% of your weight per week if you eat right, that is why everyone is going to say the healthy amount of weight to lose is 1-2lb a week. Can you lose more then this? Yes-but its not very safe or healthy and in extreme cases can cause damage to your organs. Plus most people who have been there will tell you if you lose it without the lifestyle change(eating better) it will just come back over time.
Even though Ive only been calorie counting for a few weeks I will swear by it. I have tried several diets and this is the first one Ive seen almost instant results on. Its a lifestyle change but its something I know I can do for the rest of my life, mainly because you can eat whatever you want so long as you maintain your 2000(or less) calorie a day diet you will lose weight. Granted different foods will effect your body differently, healthier foods will give you more energy where fatty foods will make you feel lethargic-but 1 calorie is equal to 1 calorie it doesn't matter where it comes from.
    Just remember
Dont start a diet you cant live with the rest of your life
Diets make you skinny, exercising gets you toned
