Ask:Weight loss issues
2007-09-25 08:40:46I am 5ƍ" 112 lbs and 23 years old! I have recently started taking an antidepressant for MS and and dropping weight like crazy. I eat McDonalds atleats 10 times a week and though I dont like it, I have been eating chocolate and sweets to try and put some weight back on. I work out to try and build muscle but have not worked out in the past week. What can I do, other than eating protein (gross) to gain weight? Does it sound like I need to see a doctor? I have like 5 lbs in 3 weeks with eating less healthy than I normally do and being really really lazy!

2007-09-25 08:56:165lbs in three weeks isn't too much really. If you were dieting they would recommend that you lose 1-2lbs per week. But you're not dieting, so you'd be unlikely to stop losing weight. On the other hand, weight loss is a common side effect for antidepressants and it may settle down soon. You're obviously worried though, so go and see your GP.
