Depends on what is in them. I would go for Green Tea extract with Hoodia. You can find that at target (60 pills for 4 dollars/ take 2 pills twice daily). Pretty much the Green Tea will boost your metabolism and help you burn around 200 extra calories a day and the Hoodia is extremely good at curving your appetite. Its a really simple formula, with two ingredients that are generally considered safe to use.

Check the labels, and research the ingredients! A while back they used to use ephedrine (speed) so that you would of course be energized and more likely to get off your butt to exercise. In my opinion, since I took Metabolife in highschool (the old one that had ephedra in it), that you shouldn't let a teenager use something like that. A couple years ago I noticed my heart rate was doing interesting things (above 200 for example), so I had it checked out. I have no idea if being on that supplement had anything to do with my high heart rate, but prolonged use of a diet pill can't go good places, ya know? Anything hyped up that says you don't have to do anything except take this pill is probably not a good idea. I haven't tried it, but the Alli system seems like it's trying to promote good eating habits while helping you block some of the fat you take in. If you have to try SOMETHING, at least do your research and promote good eating habits / exercise to whomever it is taking it. :)
