Ask:Weight loss Prescription The good bad
2007-06-04 18:43:37Here's the deal... I have had 2 babies in 2 years. The oldest is 30 months now & youngest is 16 months. I've been working out a lot sense January, keeping track about 4-6 days a week. Eating very well, drinking lots of water... so far I've lost almost 50lbs. I'm 24 years old, 5"4 152 pounds. I would really like to get to 130lbs by Fall. I'm still planning on working out & eating good but I'm getting so discouraged, I feel like my body is wacked from having kids. I have been hearing a lot about 2 different type of weight loss drugs Alli & Phenodrine (sp?) & I'm starting to look into them. I've never actually looked into the medical side of weight loss, I'm more of a natural type girl but I'm sooo sick of this long road. I'm mostly worried about long term side effects & if it's something that I would get off of & gain the weight back again? I don't know... Has anyone used these drugs & can you tell me the good & the bad? Thank you!

2007-06-04 18:52:21Hey!
I totally get your frustration. I'm looking into them too, because I am significantly overweight, and it's not that I can't keep it off, it's just that I need help getting it off.
Generally, prescription diet pills are for those who are 50lbs - 100lbs overweight, because they are powerful. What it sounds like to me is that you have reached a plateau, and your body is just telling you "No, I don't wanna lose anymore" but you have to push a little harder. If you are really considering diet pills, check with your doctor.
