I have a bottle of protein pills and on the bottle it reads do not take for weight reduction. Does this mean they will hinder me from losing weight, because I do happen to be on a diet.

When the average person is dieting, they pay more attention to scale weight than actual fat loss. Protein helps one build muscle mass, which actually may help with fat loss, but often causes the scale to show a weight gain. Muscle weighs more than fat, so while your body fat may be reducing, the scale may creep up based on the gained muscle mass. That's not a bad thing, so don't worry about it.

Its is usually the opposite, a high protein diet helps you lose weight. It might be other ingredients in the pills that are counter-productive.....

Protein is to build muscles...so it is made to cause weight gain.
