2008-03-26 08:09:41where did 1,500 cals come from?
everyone has a different minimum daily caloric intake and that is based off of the basal metabolic rate or BMR. this is the bare minimum amount of calories that is needed by the body while it is in a state of complete rest. once you add in daily activities such as work/school, exercise, sports, etc. the daily caloric intake needs to be substantially more than the BMR just to facilitate weight loss.
to lose weight/fat you only need to create a slight caloric deficit of 500 cals daily through a combination of both exercise and a decreased caloric intake. too low of a caloric intake with a lot of daily exercise is counter productive to fat loss.

Answer:would this work for weight loss
2008-03-26 07:58:02Sounds good but you might need to give more details. Two girls I work with are on 1200 calorie diets- one is Jenny Craig & the other I hadn't heard of. The added exercise is a definite boost & must have to really lose weight. I also heard that hot peppers & citrus are good additions to your diet along w/the usual high fiber, lean meats or protein . Good luck- your will is better than mine.
